A Decent Condom With Pointless Ribbs That Do More Bad Than Good
I'm not quite sure what to put here since I feel like I summed up my feelings at the end of my review, but I'd suggest giving these a shot if you're very sensitive to bumps and textures. If you've tried other ribbed condoms and didn't like them, these aren't going to be any different.

The Trojan ultra ribbed condoms are pretty decent. Decent is really the best adjective I can use for them. First off, they're condoms, and they work. They prevent pregnancy and stop the spread of STDs. But -you knew there was a but coming- the ribs are pointless and they seem to decrease stimulation for the guy. The ribs naturally make parts of the condom thicker, which means less stimulation. It doesn't decrease stimulation so much that it ruins the experience, far from it actually, but they do do more bad then good.
My girlfriend says that she can't tell the difference between these, and other non-ribbed condoms. They don't decrease stimulation for her, but they don't improve it either. Water based lubricants work great with these condoms, but I'd assume they work just as well with other condoms too. These are latex condoms, so if you have allergies to latex, these obviously wont work for you. And as with all latex condoms, be very careful when using lube with them. Check that the lube is water based and make sure that it says that it's safe for use with latex condoms. The lube that comes on the condoms is pretty good at first, but it dries up quickly. You will most likely either need additional store bought lube, or some good ole fashioned spit. The condom packaging is pretty standard and easy to open.
I have stopped using these condoms because I have found out that the company does extensive testing on animals for these. And no, that doesn't mean that they make goats have safe-sex in a laboratory, it means that they test the materials on animals by doing harmful, pointless experiments that end up killing the animals. As a vegan, I certainly can't support this.
All in all, they're condoms, they do their job, but they could be much better. And there is no excuse for animal testing on Trojan condoms.

Follow-up commentary

While I haven't used this condom since I wrote the original review, I have found more information on Trojan's animal testing practices. While I didn't like these to begin with, I pretty much despise them now. There are a lot of great condoms out there . . . this isn't one of them.

Thank you for viewing Trojan ultra ribbed condoms – male condom discontinued review page!
I did research on your claim that these are tested on animals. I was only able to find one article that said Trojan used to test their lubricants on animals. Electronic testing is used for the condoms and animals are not still used for lubricants...or at least that is what I found. I did find that the company Church and Dwight has claims against them for animal testing.
I am very interested in your views on this and wondered where your information came from. While I am a vegetarian and not a vegan, I still wouldn't want to support a product like this if it were true.
