The material is smooth and slightly padded, and the only bumpy places are that of the rivets along the collar making up the logo. Due to the smooth finish, the padded feel and the ease of use, this collar would be great for anyone who is looking to experiment in BDSM or those who are already into it.

The design of this collar is simplistic, but it will hold up to normal wear and tear well, and should last for a long time with normal play and regular maintenance. The collar is made up of two pieces of leather sewn and glued together. If your neck is smaller than 18 inches then this collar will fit you. If you have a larger neck, then this collar probably will not fit you. However, with the holes, you can place some kind of extender on it with another buckle, and it should fit just fine. The average neck should have no problems with this collar at all. If you want, you can also add a d-ring or o-ring to the notched side of the collar in order to attach a leash. Simply slip it on and you can hook a lead on.

Once on, this collar is sturdy, and will not come loose from the buckle closure that it has. If tugged or yanked on, it doesn't budge, and can hold up to some fairly good amount of force applied to it. This collar is not intended for suspension purposes, so do not use it for such. As stated before in the previous section, this collar requires an average neck to use it. If you're having trouble with this, an extender of some sort may help. Cutting the buckle and a few of the notches off of an old belt can serve as an extender for this collar.

To add an extension, place the buckle of the old belt through one of the notches in the collar. Use the notches in the old belt through the buckle of the collar and voila, you have extended it. Make sure that the belt is the same width or about the same width of the collar, otherwise it will not work. Even without the extender, this collar is easy to put on and take off. It does not have a locking feature, but it doesn't need one.

Because of the padding, this collar is comfortable and the padding feels nice. There isn't reason to worry about the material chafing, or the rivets cutting into your skin.

Leather can be pretty high maintenance due to the fact it is porous and rates a 7 out of 10 on the Eden safety scale. After each use, you can wipe the collar down with a lightly damp cloth, but long term care can be a little trickier. If you want to keep the leather from drying out or cracking, purchase some leather conditioner and cleaner designed specifically for leather products. Always make sure to store your leather in a cool, dry place, and keep it out of direct sunlight. You can purchase leather wipes at your local store, and this can also keep your leather looking new.

When it comes to the metal rivets making up the 'bad girl' logo on it, be sure to always dry them, and if you're worried about them discoloring, carefully apply a coat of clear nail polish to the surface of them, making sure not to get any on the leather itself. Taking care of your leather items will keep them around for years to enjoy. There weren't any instructions included with the collar, but it's straightforward so there weren't any instructions required. The collar came shipped in a small, unmarked, brown cardboard box. There weren't any kind of labels to give away what was inside. It was simply marked Web Merchants Inc. with the name and address to the receiver.

The package was secure and had an air pillow inside of it to keep it from bumping around. If you'd like to gift this to someone, the shipping label was fairly easy to peel off of the box without damage. You could wrap the box it comes packaged inside of with wrapping paper. This will keep the collar discreet and won't embarrass whoever you're gifting it to. If the box is somehow damaged, you can re-box it or simply put the collar into a big enough gift bag.
