The X-tree is 19 inches of yummy premium grade leather, and it is phthalate free. I love the smell of leather and this collar is beautifully scented. The inside leather is nice and soft: just soft enough to be comfortable but firm enough to be exciting. The outside leather is nice and firm, and the spikes are an excellent touch - just a little bit of punk rock added to the mix. This makes it worthy of wearing out and about with your punk or goth gear. I love the locking mechanism on the back of the collar. The hole’s a bit small, but a little time locating a small lock makes it definitely worth the while.

This collar fits perfectly well on me, (I’m a bloke) though I’ve got a fairly average neck. The feel of the leather is really comforting in a way. It is a bit big on my lady, but that just elicits the whole “Girl-wearing-her-boyfriend’s-too-big-shirt” response, which is an arousing and endearing image to many people. It’s snazzy enough to wear as a fashion accessory while maintaining its functionality. The d-ring on the front works well for a leash clip as well as for attaching various other accessories. Go crazy, tag your mate with dogtags or a bell.

I’ve got a comparable collar from Achella leather but I’m not sure which is my favourite. They’re both lovely. One of the major cons to this item is that it tends not to fit larger or smaller people. One size fits all things generally don’t actually fit anyone but a lucky few.

I’d love to see size options on this collar, also it might be cool for it to come in brown, possibly with brass hardware to appease the ever expanding Steampunk genre. For $50 or so, you can own one of these beautifully made baubles. Why not go for it?

This is still one of the shiniest, most delicious collars out there. It still smells great and is still as sturdy as ever.
