The Wartenberg Pinwheel by the Stockroom is a very nice example of a classic kinky toy - a staple for any bdsm toy box. The pinwheel is unique and fun for light to moderate sensation-play, as well as medical fantasy role-play, and anything else you can think of! I would classify the Wartenberg Pinwheel as an intermediate toy. Beginners may be intimidated by the appearance (or intrigued!), while more experienced or expert users will enjoy it's potential and pleasant quality at a low price.

The Wartenberg Pinwheel is well made, and is constructed from a highly polished metal. The spokes are sharp, but not so sharp that they draw blood easily - but you can if you are not careful. The wheel turns cleanly, without any squeaks or wobbles. The handle is a bit small, but is comfortable to grip and easy to keep a hold on.

The Wartenberg Pinwheel is my most "serious" sensation-play toy. It can (and will, if you are not careful) draw blood. I have occasionally, unintentionally, pricked my fingers on it when reaching for it. Otherwise, the pinwheel is fairly easy to wield. The ribbed handle doesn't have a tendency to slip as I had feared - I wouldn't want my hand to slip when using a sharp implement on a partner's tender, delicate bits. The sensations that the pinwheel provides are very versatile. A light touch almost tickles, a heavy hand stings. A lot of force will deliberately draw blood, if that's your thing. I prefer to use the pinwheel on my partner's tummy, and enjoy having it used on my breasts, inner thighs, calves, feet, and collar bones. I usually prefer to have my neck involved in sensation play, but the pinwheel is not as pleasant for that - it feels itchy. Overall, it's easy to see why this is a classic choice for bdsm.

The packaging for the Wartenberg Pinwheel is very minimalistic. It came in a simple ziplock bag with no markings of any kind to indicate brand, material, or suggested use. I found this pretty strange for a toy of this type - I would have expected a little tag with a warning about safety on it at the very least. I do use the packaging for storage because I have stuck myself pretty sharply with the points of this product when looking for other toys in my toy box.
