Underestimation Leads to Serious Devastation
It might look like a simple piece of plastic, but make no mistake, this cane's bark is nothing compared to it's bite. It's not a traditionalist's cane, but I love the properties of delrin as a material and the versatility of the shorter length. If you're looking for something that can cause serious welts and be a mainstay in your toy bag for years to come, this is it.

Pros
Nearly unbreakable, heavy sting, easily cleaned, nonporous, versatile length, travels easily
Cons
Not really a cane in the traditional sense
Is it possible to love a cane? Those who know them well, even heavy masochists, generally put canes into the "love to hate" category. It is usually more accurate to say that one "appreciates" a cane for what it is, the craftsmanship that went into making it, and the effectiveness with which it does it's job: inflicting intense, stinging agony.
There is certainly a lot to appreciate about Leatherbeaten's delrin cane. It is not a cane in the traditional sense, in that it's not three feet long and made of rattan, so old school caning purists might prefer that I call it a stick. Those who do not know canes might not be at all intimidated by the sight of it. It could easily be used as a pointer or something to hold a window open. But rest assured, in the hands of a practiced sadist, this cane is capable of inflicting serious sting and deep welts that last a very, very long time.
It is 19.5" long, with an impact area of 14" and a 5.5" handle. It is about 3/16" in diameter, essentially the same as a pen. The handle is long enough to fit comfortably in large or small hands, and the loop at the end will fit over a finger or a small hook. The loop is made of a strip of rubber that runs lengthwise along the cane's shaft and is held in place by a tight rubber tube. It seems very unlikely that it will come apart under normal use.
The overall length makes this implement well suited for close contact play. A shorter cane might seem less intimidating than a longer one, but is much more versatile, especially if you want to cane inner thighs or labia. Beginners will find this cane easier to aim with, and less likely to wrap around the body and land on places that should be avoided (near vital organs, joints, or certain nerve clusters). It is also easier to travel with, fitting into smaller suitcases and minimizing the amount of handle that sticks out of shoulder bags.
Delrin is a material very well suited for impact purposes because is flexible and very dense, both important factors in determining a cane's ferocity. The flexibility allows it to gain terrifying velocity as it sails through the air, and the density gives added strength to the impact, making sure that it is driven deep into tissue. Yes, you can use this cane gently, tapping it lightly or using it's tip to scratch and tease. But even repeated light taps to the same area will bring in the sting. Tops should test this cane out on their own flesh (try your thighs or the back of your calves) to get a sense of what it's capable of. It's a great "bang for your buck" toy that can deliver lots of pain with very little effort. It's effects will be different on various body types, but in general make sure you are keeping impact on areas padded by lots of muscle and fat. There are plenty of websites dedicated to how to do impact play safely, so make sure to do your research.
This material is also nearly unbreakable, which I really appreciate. While I admit, it can be a satisfying moment to break a cane across your bottom's ass, that temporary pleasure always gives way to the chore of dropping cash on new canes. So from a milage perspective, a delrin cane is an excellent investment, especially at this price point. Wood will always have it's place in the world of caning, but it never hurts to have something more resilient waiting in the wings.
I also like delrin because it is nonporous and can be easily sanitized, making it an excellent cane for genital caning and sharing between partners. You can wipe it down with antibacterial soap, diluted bleach, or Sporicidin (hospital-grade disinfectant) depending on how thorough of a clean you require. The rubber handle is somewhat porous, but that is less of a concern since it won't be coming in contact with tender bits.
Overall I am incredibly pleased with this cane. Snap it up before it goes out of stock again!

Follow-up commentary

This cane is holding up great. The lovely marks it makes last for days but it never breaks skin. If you like making body art with carefully placed bruises, this is an awesome toy. It's amazing how such a simple piece of delrin can have such an intense effect. Plus it's one of my most low maintenance toys- cleaning and storing it couldn't be easier.
