Tickle Me Kinky

The Starburst Feather Tickler is probably one of the most attractive tickler options out there. It includes gorgeous feathers that look really great in whatever color you choose.

extremely useful review
The Starburst Fantasy Feather Tickler is a tickler made by Sportsheets that is intended to tickle and arouse the skin. It basically is a small collection of feathers that is grouped together on the top of the plastic rod. The plastic rod has a small "cup" towards the group of feathers that actually seems to have some superglue in there to keep the feathers from falling off. The bottom of the plastic rod has an extra layer of plastic to act as a handle for handling the feather. The entire thing is about two feet long, and the feathers come in grape, red, violet, rose, brown, and black.

It doesn't come in any particular packaging. It does come in a small plastic bag that keeps the feathers from getting harmed during shipping. It also comes with a small cardboard tag attached to the rod that lets you know that it's made by Pipedream and gives you some "sexy hints" to use the tickler on the backside. One of the games includes using the feather to try to find the ticklish spots on your partner's body.

The feathers seem to be really well attached to the plastic rod. Each different color basically comes with that color plus black. So my red choice is red and black feathers. But they aren't really individual of each other. It looks like the company dyed the red feathers to have some of the traces of the black. Around the multiple feathers that stick up from the top is some little feathers that fuzzy out around the base to make it more soft. The feathers don't really stick in any particular direction - they seem to go out in a circular motion around the base of the toy.

It does seem to do its job though - it's not anything amazing, but it does end up tickling my skin when I run the feathers across myself. It doesn't produce an actual "giggle" tickling, but it does make the skin feel a lot more sensitive to touch. It seems to work a lot better when the person you are using it on is blindfolded - that way they can't actually see what exactly you are doing with the product so they'll be more surprised. I did find that the feathers going out in all different directions made it a lot harder to control. Since the feathers weren't all dragging in the same spot at once, I feel like it lost some of the "sensation" since you were experiencing it in multiple spots.

It did work for tickling the skin though. The feather has shed a small, tiny amount since I've got it, but honestly, it's nothing that I've really noticed sitting around the house - it just seems to show a little bit when using it on the boyfriend. The feathers themselves are definitely soft, and while they aren't quite as luxurious feeling as the Ostrich Tickler here on EF, they do still feel soft against the skin. Using the tiny feathers that are branching off right up against the rod itself usually has the softest results - the feathers that stick out are just a bit stiff compared to the little tiny feathers.

I'd avoid getting this anywhere near any type of lubricant or liquid - I'm not sure how well the feathers would hold up if they happened to get wet. For the rod itself, you could wipe it down with a warm washcloth if need be. For storage, I'd recommend keeping this somewhere where the feathers can branch out naturally - we're keeping ours in a vase with other ticklers that we own.

So overall? I like the Starburst Feather Tickler, but it isn't my favorite that we own. I prefer the Chain Tickler or the Ostrich Tickler more than this one, but it still has it's own place. It's definitely more attractive than most feather ticklers out there, and it seems like it really is going to last as compared to some of the other low-quality feather ticklers I've used. It's not perfect, but it's still a good product to try to add some sensuality to your sex life.
Follow-up commentary
I still use the Starburst Ticklers, but I usually use them in tandems with some of the other ticklers I own. Some of the feathers have actually fallen out since I've owned this, but it's not enough to really effect the use. I have no doubt that, if I keep using it, in about a year it won't have nearly as many feathers. However, for the price, it will be worth the time I owned it.
