This Slapper's Got a Split Personality
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this one. On the one hand, it does exactly what it was meant to, I was able to slide it in and out of the crop top system with ease, it held up well under abuse, and it did provide some sting. I was disappointed with how much sting it really gave, though, and the shaft running through it was discomfiting. For beginners, this would be a great intro head, but more seasoned users might want to skip it for better options.

Pros
It's a very mild slapper, and the plastic shaft makes it a different kind of pain than expected.

So, what is it?
The Split Slapper, by Sportsheets, is a removable head for their interchangeable crop top system. Made to be removed and inserted from a separate handle, this crop head is part of a system that definitely offers variety and creativity in your sessions.
Made of faux leather, this head is 1.5" wide and 3.25" long (from the tip to the end of the pleather portion) and has a rod running through the center to its midpoint, which allows you to insert and remove the crop head from your crop. The inside of the split has some kind of mystery fabric (no materials are listed on the packaging); it feels like felt but I couldn't name it for certain, so if you're allergic to any kind of textile you may want to skip this attachment. It is sewn together with white thread, no pulling or poor craftsmanship is visible and it appears to be well-made; when I tried to pull it apart at the split, I could see the thread stretching but it didn't break, even when I pulled it as hard as I could. The plastic portion, too, is solid, no matter how much I tried to crack it in half (hey, it's for science.) there was no hint that it couldn't take everything I had to offer--and then some.
It doesn't really seem that sturdy... And how do I use it, anyway?
It's easy to install into your crop or mini crop, you just press it down gently into the hole in the crop handle, and use firm pressure to remove it when you're done. I believe that, due to the pop you hear when you yank it out, it's held in by suction--and don't worry, no matter how many times you try to wave your crop around like you're in a medieval sword-fight, it won't fly off and whack your opponent/partner in the forehead.
It can be used with or without the crop top system, but I really recommend having either the crop top or the mini crop top system, as it makes the head much more functional.
Okay... I used it a few times and now it's kinda grungy and gross...
What are you waiting for? Clean it!
You can clean the split slapper by wiping it down after use with a paper towel or cloth, and if you think it requires more care, wipe it down with a toy cleaner or with antibacterial soap and water. DO NOT SOAK THIS! The threads may not hold, the faux-leather might have a panic attack and the felt fabric might run. External cleansing, only, please.

Experience
Yeah, okay, but did you LIKE it?
Well... Yes, and no.
I found that, as a slapper, it was great--if the purpose of your slap was a lot of noise. This slapper just doesn't provide a great deal of sting. I found that, if I was striking so that the tip was hitting my submissive, rather than the entirety of the head, we got a little bit of stingy pain, and a moderately loud slap. With the tip, we didn't ever really get a LOT of sting, which was disappointing. As a comparison, the crop head included with the full-size crop top system provided more sting.
When the entire head hit my submissive, we got a loud slap, a bit more sting, and an OUCH--but not the great kind of ouch. The shaft running through the slapper makes it painful when it hits the skin, not in a stingy or thuddy way, but in what was described as, "You're jabbing me with your elbow on a way smaller scale," pain. Since this crop was intended as a stingy alternative to thuddy floggers, that was a bit of a disappointment.
Because of the plastic shaft, this toy could definitely bruise, when swung at full strength, but if you're using it gently, it can be controlled so that it barely hurts. This makes this crop head a great introductory head, perfect for those who think they aren't ready to take a giant plunge into discipline, but are curious. You can give more sting (you just need to angle the crop differently) or less, or if you like the feeling the full hit with the plastic shaft provides, you can try more aggressive play.
You said I could use it without a crop top system handle, how's that work?
You can use this crop head by holding the shaft while slapping. Granted, that's not the best or easiest way to use it, but it's definitely do-able. If you're going to be using it that way, you won't get the force that a crop does, so I'd recommend that for beginners, or for slapping especially tender areas (nipples, inner thighs, genitalia).
