I must admit, I have been putting off writing this review for a while. I've been at a loss of words as to what to say about this product. I don't want to bash it completely, and want to give some good points, but it really took me this long to get something to come up in my mind regarding it.

When I got the Bound by Diamond Wrist Cuffs, I was excited! These were my very first wrist cuffs. I don't have any other form of restraint system. I realized quickly without having anything else, and with this product, I was going to have a fun time using it. With only having this product, and no other systems or restraints, you can only bind your wrists together either in front or behind you. I really didn't find much of a point of that. I REALLY should have thought that through before requesting just wrist cuffs, right? I must say, I was really confused as to what I can do with this product! I couldn't use it by myself since my fiance wasn't available to help have fun, for testing purposes of course! What was I to do? I'm a beginner when it comes to bondage, but I'm very intrigued. My question was, how on earth am I going to use this product for exactly that?

I believe that this product would be a lot better for show. Heck, I thought if I removed the clasps I could wear them as bracelets and no one would ever know it was a restraint! If you're taking sexy photos these would be great for that! Even if you had some sexy lingerie on, somehow tie your own hands up and since you can easily twist the ribbon to clasp yourself to a restraint system - wait for your partner and surprise him. It will definitely look good. I don't think this product is for heavy bondage though.

The cuffs are made with PVC which is a stiff plastic. In the middle of the cuff is two slits that have two rows of diamonds extending the width of the cuff on both sides. There is a ribbon fed through underneath the diamonds through the slits. This is how the cuff is closed. You have to tie the ribbon across the outside of the pvc cuff. There is a clasp and a d-ring in the middle of both slits. The biggest flaw I found was that the clasp and d-ring are attached on the ribbon instead of the cuff itself. If the ribbon where to accidentally fall out the clasp and d-ring would also.

Once my fiance was finally home, I had him put them on so I can get a feel for how on earth anyone could get these on their wrists. I placed the cuff around his wrist and instantly realized a HUGE flaw. I had to hold it closed, and tie the ribbon around the closed part of the cuff. Well, this wasn't a very easy task. I had to make sure the ribbon was tight enough otherwise the cuff would just go through under the ribbon and fall right off. After I thought I got them both done pretty well, I clasped them together. I told him to tug his hands apart and sure enough the ribbons stretched so far that he was no longer "bound" together.

I was also waiting for the ribbon itself to rip! This is definitely not for hardcore or extreme bondage. The ribbons would rip upon enough pull and force. I wasn't expecting too much of this product once I actually saw how it was set up with the ribbon, but even with my low expectations, they still weren't met. I really do believe this product would make a better bracelet or fashion statement than a bondage restraint.

I wouldn't recommend this product to beginners or advanced users. The beginners would be disappointed and irritated with how long it takes to put them on. Advanced users would be disappointed in its inability to restrain anyone.

I cannot imagine trying to put these on in the heat of the moment. It would completely ruin the mood for me. It's definitely not a set of cuffs you can throw on in a dominate way and have some fun. You have to concentrate really hard on to what you're doing. Whether or not its being tied correctly, tightly, and enough. Then you have to worry about it being too tight for your partner. Such a hassle, definitely not something I'd want to be doing when I'm in the middle of things.

I love this product for photography purposes. They make for great props. They would be a great thing to wear to surprise your partner, but to not necessarily use for heavy bondage, just sensual teasing and play.
