Spider Paddle Does Whatever Spider Paddle Does
The Spider Paddle is a strong paddle intended for pain - this isn't for beginners. It's a high-quality impact toy, and if you are looking for a new toy that has power and will last, the Spider Paddle is the one for you.

Pros
Easy to wield, very stingy, provides different sensations, can bruise, high-quality
Cons
Definitely not for beginners
The Spider Paddle (Entrap-Her) is fifteen inches long and made from leather, some odd shiny material, and the string itself. The backside of the paddle is leather, the string is intended for hanging the paddle, and the shiny material is on the front of the paddle and one that I can't figure out. It's shiny, smooth, and has lots of sparkles underneath the surface and is unlike any material I've ever seen on a sex toy. (It kinda matches my laptop though in the shiny department.) At the widest point, the paddle is about six inches long, but it does have lots of smaller points too. This paddle is made by Ruff Doggie Styles, and I've come to expect good quality from their products.
This doesn't really come in any specific packaging. If I remember correctly, it does come in a little plastic bag from EdenFantasys. It also comes with a little tag attached to the hanging sting at the bottom of the paddle. That's extremely easy to remove.
This paddle does seem to have been made with some care in mind. It doesn't look perfect, but it looks like it was intended to last awhile. One of the other reviewers mentions lots of threads coming loose, but I checked mine over after every use, and I've found nothing. Basically, a large piece of leather was sewn onto the top layer as well, and they've also sanded down the outside edges so it's not sharp or painful at all. The center of the paddle is extremely flat, but the outside edges (where the points of the web are) seem to curve in towards the center in the very slightest manner. The back, leather side is completely smooth. The front side, with the shiny material, has lots of embroidery into the surface of the paddle to give it the spider look. The top-half of the paddle has lots of embroidery done in a web-like pattern, and while it's not completely straight, I wouldn't expect a spider-web to be straight either. The bottom (which this is something I totally didn't notice!) has an adorable little spider hanging out at the handle. His little body is made from a layer of leather and his arms and legs are embroidered.
The embroidery can be felt on the surface on the paddle. It also provides an interesting surface that, if you hit hard enough, can leave a little spider web on your partner's bottom. It can probably also leave a little spider, but I've never attempted that. It'd probably just look like a snowman. The shiny side really has very little padding on it despite what it may look like. It basically only has the padding that the leather backing affords it - nothing more. This means that the embroidery definitely can be felt during use. Along with that, the paddle has absolutely no flexibility. This paddle is completely stiff which means that the paddle is going to be a bit more painful than if it had some bit of flexibility.
The handle makes this comfortable to wield. There is easily enough room for my hand, and there should be room for a male's hand instead since I have room left. What really makes it comfortable to hold is the little triangle at the base of the paddle - it keeps the paddle from slipping from your hands and also makes it extremely easy to keep a grasp on. Along with that, this is probably one of the smaller, light-weight paddles I own that is of this size. Because it doesn't have much in the way of extras aside from the embroidery, it's really light-weight, really easy to use, and doesn't tire out your hand at all during the use.
So what about use? This thing is INTENSE. I would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for a beginner paddle - this is definitely for those who know they enjoy a stinging pain and want to experience it. Because of the lack of padding and the inflexibility, this one doesn't have any forgiveness when struck. If you strike gently, this can be a nice, friendly paddle, but it has to be very soft. You won't get to put any strength behind it. If you strike roughly, you can expect a serious sting from this paddle - especially if you hit hard enough to leave the spider web pattern on your target. For that reason, this is a paddle I'd only really recommend for use on the butt. Other places on the body don't quite have as much padding and will receive a lot more pain. If struck with multiple rough hits, you could definitely cause bruising.

Experience
If you really enjoy being a sadist, you could use some of the points on the paddle and hit sideways with this. When struck sideways, this is guaranteed to bruise the body. For that reason, be careful doing it - it's not something you should do with your first partner nor your first paddle.
This paddle could be used softly for a beginner, but in all honesty, if you are looking for a beginner paddle, pick something different up. Something with fur usually works best. This one can be used very softly, but it has to be used very softly, and that takes the fun of out being able to strike more roughly.
This isn't meant to get near bodily fluids. If possible, try to keep it away from lubricant or anything messy. If it does get messy, you can use a damp washcloth to wipe down the surface. Because of the embroidery and all of the small crevices, I'd definitely say this should only be shared between fluid-bonded partners. For storage, I like to keep mine hanging from the strap on the handle.
The Spider Paddle Entrap-Her is a good, high-quality paddle. It's definitely built for pain and is not intended to be friendly. This is a great paddle for those who want to experience different types of pain - and especially bruising. The embroidery adds a nice little theme to this paddle - and I really love the little spider.

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I still like our Spider Paddle. It sits in our bucket o' paddles with the rest of our paddles. We use it sometimes to "punish" the boyfriend because it's so stingy. It still looks great and none of the stitching is coming out which is just what I expected from a Ruff Doggie Styles paddle.
