As the picture clearly indicates, this is a hood meant for sensory deprivation on your sub, and it excels in that regard. Place the hood over the head, cinch down the belt at the base (being VERY careful not to choke off the sub's air supply), and you've got a helpless little play thing with no sense of sight, ready to use. The mouth hole on the mask is adequate size both for breathing and for putting things in to the wearer's mouth. Provided no pressure is put on the front of the mask, the wearer can breathe through their nose (more on this later). An attachment point for a leash is present on the front of the hood if you want to pull the wearer around, but your sub needs to be VERY submissive as the leash and clip wont withstand much resistance.

The hood itself is quite well constructed. It's a two material design, with leather for the front and spandex for the back. While true leather aficionados might consider that a gyp, the spandex in back is what allows the hood to be a "one size fits most" design. The leather is good quality, very soft and smooth with a nice feel on the skin. The inside leather is rougher and unfinished but not uncomfortable. Stitching is of average quality, enough to stand up to some decent wear and tear. Sizing is good, as even my giant 7 3/4 inch head was able to fit in without incident. Once on, the hood is secured with a belt buckle style strap around the neck. The lack of zippers is a plus - long haired users have nothing to fear, though care must be taken not to cinch the neck strap down too tight as it would be possible to choke someone with it. The attachment point for the leash is a metal O ring riveted in front at the base and is quite sturdy. I would have liked to see an additional leash attachment point at the rear of the hood as well.

With the quality craftsmanship of the hood, it really surprised me how shoddy the entire leash setup was. I've received more durable items as prizes in a Cracker Jack box. The clip on the leash was about as flimsy as they come and jammed almost instantly. Even if it had not jammed, the metal was so low grade and cheap you'd have trouble tethering a chihuahua with it. The leash itself was also a disappointment, very stiff and cheap feeling.

I was able to get the hood on and buckled in seconds, and quicker than you can say "BDSM" it was off and running for my session as a masked slave. The leather both looks naughty and felt great on the skin of my wife (and fairly cozy for myself wearing it). I wasn't a big a fan of the sight deprivation - part of the tease of BDSM to me is SEEING what I can't have (or can't have until mistress lets me). Still, that may be just a personal preference and it was, if nothing else, an interesting change of pace. For the included leash, we pretty quickly swapped it out for something more durable. I won't rehash the problems with it here. Suffice to say we dropped it quicker than panties on prom night.

It wasn't until we got further along in our session that we ran in to what proved (for us) the fatal design flaw. After a good amount of teasing and playing, my wife decided it was time for the slave to give her some oral satisfaction. With her straddling my face, I dove in like a good sub, and she responded quite naturally by grinding in harder. And thats when it came time for the old tap out and safe word. With any form of pressure applied to the face of the mask, the leather pinches down on the nostrils. When this happens during oral sex, it leaves the wearer with sealed off nasal passages, a mouth full of crotch, and no air supply. Needless to say, nothing kills your libido quite like a previously fun and naughty S&M scenario turning in to a choking hazard.

A large portion of it is made of leather. That means no washing machine - use a damp cloth to clean the leather surface and dry with a towel. As with any leather item, long term durability can be an issue, particularly cracking. I've had mine for less than a week now so I can't say how much extra TLC is needed to preserve this item for the long haul.

The packaging material is a simple cardboard box. The box has a few pictures on it, two of a female dominating a male and two of the reverse. Inside is the hood, leash, and nothing else. The box won't stand up to many openings and closings. You're better off storing the hood in your toy drawer/closet without the box. The box also comes with no instructions for use or care. Thankfully the use is fairly straightforward, and if you can't figure it out you probably shouldn't be using something like this with its potential choking hazard. Still, a few suggestions for care and cleaning would have been appreciated.

Despite some of the negative experiences I had, this toy is still a good quality item. The negative experiences I encountered were more due to a lack of understanding of the limitations of this toy. Once you understand those limitations, this can be a fun little item for those interested in blind BDSM play.

Our experience with this item was a bit of a mixed bag. The lack of vision in the hood was a nice change of pace, though my personal preference is to have visual teasing available for play. It was very comfortable to wear, far more so than I was expecting. The soft leather feels great on the skin and certainly ratchets up the kink a notch (nice leather is just wonderful like that).

We were caught unawares by the limitations of the hood. With no air holes available for the nose, you really can't get the wearer to perform any oral sex. That's not something that should necessarily stop someone from buying this item, but it is a limitation that people should be aware of.
