Soft, sturdy, & does the job!

I would buy more of this rope as it's offered in other colours, but I'd like more length. Overall, it's easy to handle and isn't scary or intimidating like some serious rope that more experienced riggers use.

Use

This rope was a great beginner's rope and from what I've heard from a few folks who are more experienced, it's not bad for those who do a bit more. It's soft and doesn't stretch really and when I first did a rope gauntlet and then took it off, it left some fun marks that eventually went away.

It's long enough to get some play out of, but to do more, you'd definitely need more as this one is only around 30'.

I also used it to rig a system to our headboard where we could easily tie each other down and speaking from experience, you don't budge. It gives a TEENY bit just so you think you're going somewhere, but you won't. After 6 months on the headboard, it's still just as sturdy, but I used the length to really reinforce it pretty well, so that helps.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

Like previously mentioned, it's lasted pretty long so far, more than I had expected, actually. When you receive it, you should treat the ends so that they don't fray and last longer. This is called wrapping or whipping. I used it with the Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes book and they gave more tips, but basically, you want to fuse or cover the ends. With cotton rope, such as this, I'd suggest covering with electrical or duct tape, even wax.

There's no weird smell, it comes in packaging that, if you can fit it back in, you can use to store it until you decide on another way.

The braid of the rope is pretty reinforced and sturdy, though because it's a lot of separate strands woven together, it sometimes gets caught and tags.

Performance

As it was beginner's rope that I bought specifically for use with "Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes", it met my expectations and then some, actually. I could use it for almost everything in the book I wanted to try since the book is also for beginners.

I didn't expect that it would work so well as a bed restraint system, but I've learned to be resourceful with sex toys and get more use out of them than they're actually supposed to have.

However, I feel as if I was retying and working with this rope more consistently, I would definitely need backups and different types. Like I said, good for beginner's, but I would add some nylon and such to my collection as well so that this doesn't take all of the abuse.

Care and Maintenance

I would roll it up and around itself to keep it together and at the beginning, I put it back in its packaging, but now since it's on the headboard, I usually keep it covered with an extra blanket so it doesn't get dusty or food/drink splashed on it somehow during in-bed computer work, movies, etc. as I practically live in my bed. However, being cotton, I'm sure it's probably washable, but I would suggest by hand or in a lingerie bag. For safety's sake (and I can see this happening now that I said "washable"), please don't put in a washing machine outside of a cleaning bag as you will probably need to buy a new machine AND new rope when it gets caught around the agitator.

Packaging

It was in a standard clear packaged plastic box with some writing, but nothing really that would be considered instructions. However, since I bought it to use with a book that was more informational, I would suggest that route and also do some research online to make sure you're getting the most out of it.

The packaging is NOT good for long term storage and wasn't really discreet.
