The business end of the paddle is in the shape of a long, rounded rectangle and the handle starts off thinner and ends in a rounded tip. The entire paddle is one solid piece, the handle isn't separate from the rest of it. Since it's thicker than the rest of the paddle, it feels nice and solid in your hands and during use. Unlike some other paddles, this one doesn't stick straight out. When you hold it by the handle, the top part of it droops down and is very limp. On top of the handle has the only real marking on the piece. It says 'Tantus' in raised letters toward the top of the handle and at the base is a small hole. The hole has a thin cord running through it when it first arrives. It's large enough that it could be hung on a hook, but not wide enough to put around even a thin wrist. Should you wish to have a longer cord that would go around your wrist, it would be easy to remove the one that's there and replace it with another one. Aside from those areas, there is a seam that goes around the entire perimeter of the paddle. You can only slightly feel the seams, but they don't stand out when you're using it and it isn't a problem.




The material feels really high quality and should last a lifetime if properly taken care of. Even with heavy use, it doesn't seem as though it will cause any type of wear. Unless something punctures the material or it's exposed to a similar material or any lubricant other than water-based, there's really nothing to worry about.
