Sleeping Beauty
The Bound By Diamonds Ribbon Eye Mask by Cal Exotics is gorgeous! To be honest, I purchased it just because I thought it was pretty. I didn't expect it to be as comfortable as it is. The mask is great to use during play, or even to sleep in. I'm definitely happy with it.

Pros
inexpensive, beautiful, comfortable, will fit most people.
Cons
does not block out all light.
I’ll admit. I’m a sucker for anything sparkly. The Bound By Diamonds Ribbon Eye Mask by Cal Exotics being only $9.99, I had to try it.
The mask arrived in a cardboard box. The front of the packaging states the product name, a few product features, and has a photo of a model wearing the mask. The back of the packaging has the same information, as well as the size (one size fits most). The one side of the packaging states the material composition and website. Inside of the box, the mask is wrapped in a plastic bag. I suppose you could use the box for storage though it does take up a lot more room than needed.
The ribbon and satin lining is 100% polyester. The eye mask is 30% polyester, 10% polyurethane, and 60% PVC. There is absolutely no stretch to the ribbon or the eye mask. The ribbon seems to be long enough though to accommodate a variety of sizes (of heads).
I’ve taken measurements of the eye mask laying flat. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I can get them for you.
Tie length: 20 inches each
Mask width: 7 ½ inches
Mask length: 3 ¼ inches
The front of the mask has a shiny wet-look to it. There are 2 rows of rhinestones on each side of the mask. The first row (closest to the ribbon tie) is a double row of 4 rhinestones. The next area is a double row of 16 rhinestones. The rows of rhinestones are on a track that is flexible. The rows of rhinestones aren’t sewn on to the mask as well as they could be, though I haven’t had any issue of the stitching coming undone (yet). Below you can see the rhinestone detail up close.
When wearing the mask, I found that it didn’t block out all light because there was a bit of a gapped area at the sides of my nose. The gap areas by my nose were pretty minimal but they were there. I assume that this gap area may be smaller or larger depending on the shape/size of your nose. The mask material is not sheer so you cannot see through the material when wearing the mask, regardless of how much light is in the room, etc.
I purchased the mask to use during play but it could work as a sleeping mask as well. The only issue with using this as a sleeping mask is that ribbon ties need to be tied behind the head, which can be uncomfortable if you sleep on your back with your head towards the ceiling. If you were to wear the mask to sleep with your head facing the side, then the knot in the back of the mask wouldn’t be a problem. When I wear the mask for play, I tie the ribbons into a tight bow at the back of my head and it stays tight and in place. The material on the inside of the mask is very soft and feels nice against the skin. I have no complaints about the comfort of this mask.
There is no care tag or care instructions with the mask but I assume that gently hand washing the mask in cold water and hanging to dry would work. I have not washed the mask yet because it hasn’t gotten dirty, but I will update in the follow up when I do.
Overall, I’m happy with this mask. I think it’s beautiful and it’s quite comfortable. Though the mask doesn’t block out all of the light, it does a pretty good job blocking out most of it. The mask isn’t really high quality though it seems durable and should last quite awhile. I’ve deducted one star from the rating because it does not completely block out light. For me, this really isn’t an issue because the gap areas near my nose are so small but for others, this gapped area may be larger. If this mask were available in different colours, I’d probably get them all.

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I still think this is a great mask for both sleeping and playing in. I use this as my back up sleeping mask because I prefer the Silk Whisper which has an elastic band that secures the mask to my face rather than having to tie it.
Since the review, my partner got lubricant all over this mask because we keep both things on the night stand. He threw the mask in my lingerie bag and it went through both the washer (on cold) and dryer. I was surprised to find out that the mask actually wasn't damaged from this. I had assumed that the material would melt or something if put into the dryer. It came out in great condition and all of the rhinestones are still on the mask.

This is a very pretty blindfold. It's the first time I've seen it. I'm a sucker for sparkly things. Too bad that it doesn't completely block out all light, but it's nice that it blocks it all around besides the nose area.

It's hard to find an inexpensive blindfold that blocks out all light. For the price of this one, it does a pretty good job overall (and it's gorgeous to boot!)
