Leatherbeaten keeps rolling out winning S&M products. When I received my first collar from them I was extremely impressed, and the Lazy O Collar holds the same high quality. I got this collar for my boy because I’ve gotten him so many wide and bright collars, so I wanted to get him something in rich leather. The Lazy O is simplistic in design, which achieves all desired goals I had for this collar.

This collar comes in two sizes: 18.5” and 22”, I am reviewing the 18.5” version. This sizing includes the buckle when laid flat. The leather is 1” wide, and after the first 1.5” of leather, 7 holes that are .5” apart go down the line. At its widest point, it should fit snugly to a 16” neck and at the smallest it should fit a 12” neck. The leather is extremely thin to make it very flexible, and it’s smooth on the inside for maximum comfort. There are 2 metal rivets holding the hardware to the leather, one holding the buckle, and the other holding a second piece of leather that holds the ring. The buckle is a standard style, like a belt buckle, it’s about 2” long and 1.25” wide. The ring attached to the leather is a pentagon, and on it is a 1” circular ring for leashes and various other things to be attached to.

Maintenance on this collar is easy. For the leather, if any stains get onto the leather, using a leather cleaning solution followed by leather conditioner would be best. This will help the collar last much longer. The metal hardware should have no complications, just wiped down with damp cloth when necessary. Assuming the hardware is like my last collar, if you have any metal allergies, I’d contact Leatherbeaten before purchasing to find out the specific metals used.

When this collar came in I decided to try it on, being a big guy, this collar was too tight on its largest setting, so I knew this collar wouldn’t be for me. When my boy came to visit recently I put it on his neck while making love. He was surprised because he didn’t know it was coming and it jingled a little as he moved because the two metal rings clinking together. After a lot of blushing, I attached a collar and tugged him into a kiss. He soon started to pull away, me holding the leash tight and he wasn’t able to get away. The collar held up wonderfully and I am very pleased with it.
