Silk rope review
This isn't exactly everything I expected. Unless you can tie a great knot, it's kind of hard to use. This is my first experience with rope, and while I don't want it to be my last, I don't know if I'll be going for silk rope next time.

Pros
Soft, Lovely color
Cons
Slick, Knots don't hold well, Kind of short
The Beginner's Silk Rope Kit was a good product. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I do realize that my expectations may have been a little high.
When I unrolled it, it was wonderfully soft. It feels like silk, probably because it's silk rope. I rubbed it on my arm, and unlike some other ropes, it isn't coarse, and I didn't feel any kind of rope burn.
Another good thing about it is that it's quite thick. If you can get a nice knot, it's quite durable. I don't think you have to worry about this rope snapping anytime soon.
At first we tried to use the rope as cuffs of sorts, and just tie my wrists, but since it's so soft and thick, we couldn't get any of the knots to hold well. Then I tried to show him a knot I learned from watching a video of Two Knotty Boys. Sadly, the rope wasn't long enough. Then because we don't have any bars on the bed, we tried to put the rope around the bed, but once again it wasn't long enough. I do acknowledge that this is my own fault, because it clearly says both ropes are six feet long. I think it would be nicer to have one twelve foot long rope, though.
We ended up tying the rope to a pair of my cuffs. Then he pulled my arms behind my back, and we did it doggy style. It ended up working out pretty well in the end. It held onto the cuffs pretty well, possibly because the D-rings are very tiny, so the rope couldn't easily slide out.
I'm not completely sure on the cleaning, though. Silk can get water stains, so I'd try not to get it wet. It is black, so you may be able to wipe it with a damp cloth. I personally just try to not get it dirty.
This was the first experience I've had with rope, and I'm not disappointed. I do wish it would have been able to hold knots better. Like I said though, my expectations were probably too high. I'm certainly not going to let this stop me from trying out more kinds of rope, though.
Maybe it'll be better once I have more rope experience, or know how to make some better knots, I'll enjoy this a lot more. So far, however, this just isn't the rope for me.
I'll be sure to write a follow up review though, to let you know if I still feel this way.

I'm still not really a fan of it. It would be fantastic if it was with longer rope, but there's really not much I can do with this.

Thanks for the review.

Six feet is a bit short to be doing bondage with, and I can see why you'd have problems. A longer length might work better for you. Thanks for the review!

Great review. I agree that a longer rope might have been better.

Nice review! Six feet is totally too short to do much with except restrain hands or feet to something but nice to know how soft it is. Perhaps a little longer rope and some more practice?

I agree with you Kaleidescope. I think a lot of the problem was my lack of rope experience. :]

Shibari cuffs are easily done with short rope, but I understand the frustration. Nice review.
