Shut Out The World
If you like a little luxury with your BDSM play, or even just for a night you want to let go this is the blindfold for you. Made from great materials it's gorgeous to look at and can lead to a great night. A few minor tweaks and this could be a winner.

Pros
Fantastic color, great materials.
Cons
Can let in light, expensive, tie-back can have difficulty staying knotted.
The Lelo Intima silk blindfold is beautiful, no question about it. From the moment Lelo introduced this line of products my wife has had her eye on the blindfold. We've had it about two months now and my feelings have changed on it during that time.
As always, the Lelo packaging was great. It arrives with an outer cardboard box that has the company name and a picture of the blindfold on the front. On the back of the box there is the name of the product again, as well as care instructions, what material the blindfold is made out of and a product description. Once you open the outer cardboard box you remove the inner packaging, which is a heavier cardboard-type box. On this packaging it is black and you have the Lelo name embossed on the box and it is like a hat box, or jewelry box, where you remove the top and have the inner casing and product inside. Once you open this the blindfold is inside with a small black tag attached by string to the blindfold, easily removable with scissors, and the blindfold is wrapped in nice tissue paper.
We threw away the outer packaging immediately, but like all the other Lelo products we own, we kept the inner packaging. You can leave this packaging out and unless someone opens it, no one will know what is inside. It is great for storing your item as the box is very sturdy and will keep the item safe. If you were to give this as a gift the outer box would be a little descriptive, but it is still tasteful.
The blindfold is 32" long and is 1 3/4" wide. It is made from 100% silk, and comes in three colors, red, black and purple. We chose purple. One side of the blindfold itself is very smooth and the other side has a floral-type pattern on the blindfold. There is an elastic band that allows some stretch to the blindfold. The blindfold is 1 5/8" between the eyes and 2 1/4" at the eyes. You secure the blindfold by tying the silk ends around the back of the head and also the elastic bands on the back help secure the blindfold.
That is where we had some trouble with the blindfold and at first I was more upset about it than I am now. The elastic bands work fairly well and the ribbons on the back are more ornamental than functional. But I had the hardest time with the ribbons on the back staying tied. I don't know if it was the silk material or the fact that I am a Boy Scouts drop-out, but the knots came undone very easily. It didn't affect the performance of the blindfold too much because of the elastic, but it was still slightly aggravating. The blindfold fits well over my wife's eyes. It is not a total black-out blindfold however. Light does seep through at the bottom of the blindfold and for $60 you probably are hoping for more of a black-out blindfold. If you keep your eyes closed you will not have a problem, but that does defeat the point of the blindfold a bit.
The quality of the material and the workmanship is fantastic. I found no loose stitches, and all of the stitches were even for use. The material feels fantastic and the blindfold feels very comfortable while being worn. I have no complaints at all about the materials used or the work that was put into the production at all.
Since this is made from 100% silk it is dry clean only. The care instructions make sure to note that and I will as well. You don't want to wash this or it will be ruined. You do not want to use any liquids around this, no applying lube and then using your hands to put on this blindfold, it will damage or ruin the material. I would also advise against heavy makeup while wearing this. The first time we tried it was after a wedding and my wife had not taken her makeup off yet. Some of her foundation appeared at the bottom of the blindfold and I kind of freaked out. But we took it to the cleaners and it was as good as new once we got it back.
Like I said earlier I would store this blindfold in the nice packaging that Lelo provides as we do. The box is small and can be tucked into almost any drawer, a night stand, a lingerie drawer, or a toy chest and it will not take up very much room at all.

Experience
So is it perfect? No. Is it a really nice blindfold that does it's job pretty well? Yes, it is. I don't want to seem like I'm being too harsh on this item, because we really do love it. My wife always feels very sexy when we use this and loves the deep purple color. But when you are paying this price for a blindfold you have pretty high expectations. My main suggestion would be to perhaps bulk up the silk at the bottom of the eyes so it will do a better job of blocking out any light. We have several blindfolds that do that and it is also nice padding when worn. If Lelo were to make that change it would be 5 stars for sure.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
Going back to my original review I think I might have been a bit harsh. Like I said before the ornamental aspect of the ties can be aggravating, but overall this blindfold works well. This works very well for longer periods of play like my wife and I have gotten into. The blindfold is very comfortable and doesn't bother my wife when wearing it for some time. Other blindfolds we have begin to itch or something of the sort, but not in this case.
So I would still give this 4 out of 5 stars for the small flaws it has, but a much more enthusiastic 4 stars than my original review might have entailed.
