Screw the teacher fantasy...just bring on the pain!
I wanted to relive my late night internet sessions of pain at my hand but on the command of another. With the first hit, I felt my pussy pulsate and beg for more. You don't need to be a teacher to use the Naughty Ruler, but you definitely need to know what the hell you are doing!

Pros
Strong and sturdy. Very inexpensive for an item that bites harder than some higher priced paddles.
Cons
Handle is not wrapped in leather as described and may need to be replaced over time.
When I came across this paddle ruler, I instantly thought of my early years of training by a long distance Dom. He insisted that I get paint stirrers from a nearby home improvement store and wait for his next command. By the end of the night, I found myself whacking my breast and pussy repeatedly for defying him some weeks prior. With each hit to my flesh I felt myself getting wetter and wetter and squirming from erotic agony. When I was done, I could see specks of blood on the stick that heightened my impending horny-ness further.
As soon as I received my ruler, I was instantly teleported to that moment some years ago. The Naughty Ruler by RUFF Doggie Styles is far wider than what I used before, but the wood felt exactly the same. So of course I couldn't wait to lock myself away and test it out.
The ruler showed no mercy to my body, leaving 1 1/2" welts across my breast and along my torso. Ecstasy raged throughout my body from the tiny bites of pain. Once I started, I couldn't stop and didn't want to. I'm sure my neighbors could hear my moans from down the street, and frankly, my dear, I didn't give a damn. My only regret is that I didn't have a partner readily available to spank my ass.
Eden carries over fifty products from RUFF. Most of their toys appeal to me for their creative and artistic design. The ruler spoke to the amateur pain slut in me. Many get off on the school girl fantasy whereas I really wanted to see if it held up and could inflict the pain I crave every so often. I wasn't disappointed by any means.
The ruler mimics the length of a 12" ruler. However, because of the wrapped handle, you are only privy to 8". Now, many refer to the handle as being wrapped in leather. I'm going to have to disagree. The package says that it is made of wood and PVC. At first, I really couldn't figure out exactly what was made of PVC until I went to unwrap the packing. The handle is affixed to a small cardboard card and then wrapped in a tight plastic and secured with a kind of ziptie. I should have cut the plastic away with scissors but instead I tore it away with my nails. When I did this, the wrapping lifted a little and I saw that it was woven underneath and not suede like a leather wrap should be. This screamed man-made materials to me. The wrap, when lifted, doesn't feel like leather despite it being extremely soft. My only fear is that over time it could shift when exposed to prolonged perspiration or use. After five encounters of this pain stick, I have had no problems with the handle.
The ruler is 1 1/2" wide and this, along with the Ruff symbol and "do you measure up?" quote, is about the only thing that I felt made it differ in appearance from a true school ruler. I did try and bend the ruler to see if I could detect any sign of future breakage and thankfully I found nothing that indicated that it wouldn't hold up for even the hardest punisher. The major difference from my paint stirrer encounter was that it didn't draw blood. Now, I must warn my newbie deviants who buy this to receive or give pain: this ruler is NOT for the faint of heart or amateur. Because it packs a hard punch, leaving welts and may break skin, someone who is not new to paddles shouldn't handle it. Also, aftercare is important when using any device that causes bruising, welts, or possible cuts. Someone who regularly uses paddles should know how to properly care for the receiver after a scene is over.
I wouldn't suggest soaking it in water, but I do wipe it down with a damp cloth. Also, for me, storage is important with any of my toys that can tear flesh. To ward off possible infection, I like to keep these types of toys wrapped up or in a box separate from my other treasures. The benefit in doing this is that you won't have to worry about other materials rubbing off on it, and when you break skin or bruise the flesh, you won't have to worry about particles of other materials embedding in your skin.
As for the wrapping...if it comes off one day, I suggest going to a tennis store and purchasing leather grip tape to re-wrap it. I found some online for $7.75. They come in a variety of colors, widths, and lengths.
Purchase this item and fall in love as I have. Happy spanking, my beautiful deviants!

Follow-up commentary
5 months after original review
I have used this item in several presentations and it has held up well. I will however be replacing the binding around the handle. But this is no biggie. I will continue to enjoy my little paddle and all of its pleasurable pain!
