The Rose buds crop is made of technicolor green and red leather artfully braided around a rigid shaft with rosebuds intermittently along the length and a large rosebud at the head. The handle is studded with little red gems around the circumference.

It's a very handsome crop, the colors of the leather are a little too "day-glo" for my tastes but it's flowery look makes it look less intimidating than your standard issue riding crop. It's nice and flexible and has a good "swish" to it.

The soft layers of the rose petals absorb some of the "thwack" making this a great choice for some light play. It still provided a nice sting though.

At 25" long it's not the easiest thing to stash, it fit nicely into the storage ottoman we use as a toy chest but i think you could keep it hidden in a mailing tube or at the back of the closet without any problems.

if it gets soiled you should wipe it clean with a damp cloth and pat dry, and once a year it wouldn't be bad to use some leather conditioner on it.

I thought it was, despite the neon colors, really pretty to look at, the leather is woven around the shaft beautifully. The gems are the chintzy acrylic kind that you can see air bubbles in the glue holding them on. I don't know if the metal around them is actually holding them in the handle or if they're just glued, I wasn't about to pick one off just to find out.

I'm not sure if this has been discontinued or not, but it would be great for someone new to the ways of being smacked with a crop, do to it's non threatening appearance and less sharp slap.

it's well crafted, it's lovely, it just never gets used on me which is a god damned shame! I'm passing this one on to a friend who I know will get to enjoy it to it's fullest.
