Reliable vegan cuffs!
Affordable, versatile non-leather cuffs that can take just about anything. Not only are they strong and reliable, but they can be attached without any hardware!

Pros
Soft, strong, animal-friendly, washable.
Cons
Velcro closures can be a little loud.
This set of cuffs is really versatile! I have been playing around with various types of restraints for a while, and keep coming back to this set. They're wide enough to be safely used on delicate wrists or ankles, and I've yet to find someone that they won't fit around. They're designed with a thick neoprene layer against the skin that makes them comfortable for long periods of time, even under strain.
Supercuffs are leather-free, and consist of neoprene (the same material used for laptop carriers or scuba suits), Velcro, and stainless steel D-rings, so they're washable, and can be used in wet environments (though this will affect the Velcro's hold). They're also really lightweight, which makes them easy for travel. I don't use much leather so these seemed worth a try. When I got them, they had a slight smell that wasn't offensive, a bit like new clothes.
They do hold onto smells though; they live in a toybag with my flogger and have taken on a faint smell of leather, which I won't complain about, but if you are sensitive to smells, you might want to keep them in a plastic bag after you wash & dry them. (I haven't put them through a commercial washer or dryer, I prefer to wash them by hand and hang them up-- I wouldn't want to ruin these darlings.) Since they have Velcro straps, the Velcro can get fuzzies in it, which are easy to remove.
There are three layers to these cuffs: a wide cushy neoprene strap that surrounds the wrist, Velcro that secures neoprene in place, and another (thinner) Velcro strap to make it secure. The thinner one can also be looped through the D-ring of the accompanying cuff to make instant handcuffs-- no rope, snap hooks or carabiners necessary. There was a little instruction page to help with hooking them together.
Most leather cuffs require some other element to hold cuffs together, so this was a pleasant surprise when I got them. It makes things a lot quicker, if you want to get your kink on in a hurry. However, securing the Supercuffs can take a moment, especially if you need to re-adjust the Velcro to stay in line with the neoprene, but they're definitely worth the effort. And ripping them off is quite satisfying, I've found. This may not be very sexy for everyone, and they certainly don't have the "riveted leather" look that some folks prefer, but for me, the positives far outweigh the negatives.
It's very difficult to get these to slacken once they're secured; a lightweight cuff with a Velcro closure didn't seem as sturdy as a leather cuff with a metal buckle, but it seems to be on par with other cuffs I've used with buckle closures. The Velcro really keeps them in place, and there is less risk of circulation cut-off than with other types of restraint (handcuffs, rope, etc).
For people with a hard time getting their wrists together behind their backs, the D-rings are strong and ideal for double-ended snap hooks or other hardware to hold them together at a short distance. These cuffs have held up in a variety of situations; I've had mine for more than a year now and they're still going strong, and good as new - despite near - constant use.
I would recommend these for people looking for something comfy to introduce themselves to the fun of kinky restraints, or to BDSM aficionados looking for a soft and strong alternative to leather cuffs.

Experience
A set of four Supercuffs, a metal o-ring, and 4 double-ended snap hooks make a great hogtie set... and the hardware is all in the same aisle at most hardware stores. Once someone has a cuff on each wrist and ankle, attach a snap hook to each D-ring. Bring the hands behind the back and attach them to the o-ring, then, with the person laying on their tummy, bring their feet up to the o-ring and snap the free ends of the snap hooks to the o-ring. If they're not limber enough to reach, add a carabiner or two for length between the wrists and ankles. This position isn't meant for face-to-face sex, but is great for teasing and sensual play. Have fun and be safe!
Follow-up commentary

Still going strong! These cuffs are still comfy & strong. The velcro got some fuzz in it, but was easy to get out, and still holds tight when fastened. Still great, still durable, still highly recommended.
