Quality Control aside, a decent rope!
Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the rope. I hadn't expected actual silk rope given the cost but was at least hoping for some sort of synthetic that felt similar. The frayed spots (there were 3 of them down the length of rope) were also a letdown.

Pros
decent length, strong enough to practice with
Cons
frayed out of the package, not silk
This product confused me upon arrival. I was expecting to receive a long length of Japanese silk rope. However, silk it is not. The rope feels like some form of mono-filiment. Soft, but not satin-y like one would expect. It is also lacking the core I would expect in silk rope. A bit scratchy, the black rope even showed signs of being frayed already, despite being new. A bi-product of cheap machining perhaps. The single braid style is acceptable for practicing.
This scentless, black rope is easy to clean with a mild soap and water. It is not the most durable product but you get what you pay for. You should be able to preform many ties and binds with your partner due to the long length though it may be unwieldy at first to the inexperienced.
It was still long enough to practice shibari and moderate bondage techniques with so I figured it was a decent deal for the price. It was supposed to measure in at 35 feet but came up a bit short. The rope measures roughly a half inch in diameter and has a good tensile strength. The ends were covered in a foil tape. I decided to leave that on to help prevent unraveling.
My fiance and I began to run it though many "stress tests." We tied me to the bed frame spread-eagle and I squirmed and fought with all my might to undo myself but it refused to budge. He even took a couple of turns trying to slide his way out of it. With some decent knot work it holds up. It also leaves a painful rope burn for those who enjoy it. We then tried shibari and it came up a bit short for a few bindings. It did make a beautiful breast harness (shinju), though. We also did a modified version of a wrist and arm restraint.
I would recommend this product to a beginner or intermediate practicing new binds. I would not recommend using it for suspension play it doesn't seem quite strong enough for that.
