For beginners and experienced hitters alike, the Rainbow Nights Silver Paddle is a great addition or starter for any collection. It's light enough that any hand can wield it, either people with smaller or larger hands, and it's small enough that it can be easily tested out on an arm, a thigh, or somewhere else before use on a partner. It does have a small holding area, so keep that in mind before purchasing this paddle. For use, either lightly (or roughly) hit a partner's thighs or tush to give a little (or big) taste of pain. It can do a great amount of damage, but it can also give light little smacks for teasing.

The paddle is shaped almost like a ping pong paddle. It's small, short, and is very round, which makes it great for giving smacks to designated areas and not giving any unintended pain. Its spankable area is much larger in comparison to the handle, which is very small (meaning that some people may have a hard time gripping it because of having bigger hands). The spanking area has a width of a little over 5", with a length of 6 1/2", and the handle has a smallest width of 1 1/4" and a largest width of 2 1/4"; the length of the handle is 3 1/2", and the length of the entire paddle is just over 10 1/2".

Its spanking portion and entire underside is made of high quality leather. Go ahead and put your nose to it—you'll get that lovely scent of real, delicious leather. I recommend hitting your hand with it a few times to test out its abilities, and to see just how nicely made this paddle is. The backside is covered with a cloth material that seems almost like a corduroy, and if pressed on, feels a bit plushy and soft.

Now we come to what makes this paddle extremely unique and absolutely beautiful: the intricate design on the back. With lovely shimmery white thread creating circular, almost aquatic, designs, and carefully placed sequins and beads, the backing of this paddle is just exquisite. It's something that you can put in your closet or behind a door and just awe over for a few moments. It's that beautiful. The only problem is the worry of these beads falling off or getting everywhere when they do. For the most part, they're sewn on there very well, but my paddle actually had some beads missing and a few that were loose.

On the end of the handle is a little loop that can be used for hanging. My hand did not fit through it, though, so I will not be using it as a wrist strap.

You can use this paddle in a number of ways. Some of my favorites are: giving tons of light smacks, so that as the number of smacks increases, the pain starts settling in very slowly; giving hard spanks with a short warm-up time in between; or a mixture of the two. It can produce either a stingy or thuddy feeling, depending on how it's used, meaning that it can fill a large amount of people's tastes. I personally prefer to use stingy implements, so this one is perfect for me. The hard leather allows even the most inexperienced hitters to use it lightly and safely, and since it is so beautiful, it's very non-intimidating.

Since the paddle's made of leather and corduroy, you'll want to make sure that you handle it very carefully. The only way to clean leather is with a specific leather cleaner or a cotton washcloth with some water and mild soap on it. Caring for the side with the sequins is very difficult, so I recommend being careful with where you store it. I personally store my paddle behind my door with my other floggers and impact implements, so it stays clean and ready to use. It can also be stored in a closet, on a shelf, or in a drawer if you so choose.

Packaged in a little plastic baggie, this paddle is sent using minimal materials that can either be reused for throwing out trash or for whatever you use plastic bags for. The paddle also has a tag attached to it with some information about Ruff Doggie Styles' company; nothing about cleaning or care, though.

I put the "bee" down as four because this little paddle gives a loud sound when it's used. It's like a hard thuddy sound, but it gives a nice stingy feel. I'm really, really confident in Ruff Doggy Styles' products now, because I have never received something bad from their company.
