The Aslan Silicone ball gag is, well, a ball gag. The name says it all.

A ball gag is an item commonly seen and used within BDSM play. A ball gag is inserted into the mouth and tightened in the back with a buckle and hole system (think of a belt). The ball makes it hard for the user to speak. They are often said to be able to only make "mmph" sounds and grunts. To be honest, though, if the ball gag is looser, the user can push it out and talk normally. If you do tighten it quite tightly, it definitely makes it hard to speak. The ball inhibits the use of your tongue, making articulate speech impossible. The Aslan Silicone ball gag is like all other ball gags. It has a silicone ball that is inserted into the mouth and a leather strap to tighten it.

When you stick something in your mouth, it causes salivation. A ball gag is no different; you will notice some increased salivation. If the person wearing the ball gag is tipped forward, they might drool. This depends on the person to some extent too. Some people find this attractive (myself included), but others do not. Just something to keep in mind while playing with your partner.

With an object in your mouth, it does make it harder to breathe. If you have problem breathing through your noise due to reasons such as allergies or a broken nose, this ball gag might not work for you. You can breathe through your mouth, but I find most of my breathing is through my nose while wearing it.

I think this product is good for both beginners and advanced users. This was the second ball gag I have used, but it would have worked great as the first ball gag I have ever tried. I would not recommend this toy to try if you are not into BDSM, though. It is something I think you need to be interested in. It can be used for solo play such as masturbation or self bondage, but understand the risks of self bondage before you try that. It carries additional risks. It is also great for partner play.

This ball gag basically has two materials: Leather and a silicone ball gag. The toy has a safety rating of 7 according to EF. The ball gag could be said to have a safety rating of 10, and the leather to have a rating of 7. This is why the toy gets a rating of 7.



First off all, the ball gag. Silicone is a great material; it is non-porous and extremely safe. So, you never have to worry about your ball gag holding a bunch of nasty mouth bacteria. Most ball gags have the ball gag affixed, so it does not come off. This ball gag, however, lets your pull the ball off. So, you could wash it with soap and water, sterilize it with 10% bleach solution, throw in on the top rack of your dishwasher, or boil it for a couple of minutes. This is a definite plus. I do think it changes the toy.

Other ball gags seem harder than this one. I believe this is because there is a smaller hole where the strap runs through. I do not think this is necessarily a bad thing, though, it just changes the experience. The ball changes from a circle to a oval shape more than my other ball gags, because it is squishier. It has some nice "give" and feels great to bite down on (nice if you like a bit of pain). I have not noticed any pieces coming off, or any damage to the ball. The ball is like all silicone, and has no taste or smell. The ball does have a seam that you can see on it, but you cannot feel it in your mouth, which is very nice. The ball feels smooth, nice and pleasant in your mouth.

Second, the leather. One of the reasons I bought this gag is because I bought the Aslan Cherry Jaguar Harness and the leather was just divine. This is also the case with this gag. The leather is nice, soft, and supple. Definitely very comfortable, and very high quality. I personally have a bit of a thing for leather, and this toy did not disappoint. The leather is also very soft and comfortable when wearing this toy for longer periods of time. The leather has a slight leather smell. I find it pleasant, but it has begun to fade. I think that after time, it will have no smell.

The ball of this gag has a diameter of 1.75 inches. I think this is good for quite a few users. It definitely is filling, which I like in a ball gag. I will say that I am a male and 6 feet tall, so my mouth is probably bigger than most of the females. This might verge on being too big for some females users out there. But if you have tried a 1.75 inch ball gag before and liked it, then this one will work well for you. If it is too big, you can also switch it to a smaller size which is easy with the quick release safety snaps. The leather strap can adjust from 18 to 24.5 inches. This would fit almost everybody, I would think.

This toy also has a unique feature for a ball gag, which is the quick release snaps. The two ends of the gags have snap clips. This means you can remove the ball gag from your mouth without having to take the time remove the back straps. This also lets you change the ball gag if you desire.

This toy performed great, and it was very comfortable. The leather does not dig in, even when the gag it cinched very tight. I like to have a ballgag tight so I cannot push it from my mouth. With the other ball gag I used, it dug into the sides of my mouth and was uncomfortable. With this ball gag, the leather is nice, soft, and supple, and there are no metal parts digging into my mouth. This makes it very comfortable for both longer and shorter periods of time.

This gag is effective at making it impossible for the person wearing it to make coherent sentences. It is impossible to completely prevent the wearer from making a noise. The only way to do that would be to completely block off their airway. And then, the wearer would be unable to breathe and die. This toy, however, does do a very good job. It restricts the tongue, and just makes it impossible to use real words. You can make grunts and sounds, but nothing that sounds like a real word.

This toy does not have a locking buckle. It would be nice to be able to prevent the wearer from removing it, but that is really the only complaint I have with this toy.

The silicone ball gag does collect lint and hair and other materials. So I would suggest just a quick wipe before you use it, unless you want hair in your mouth.

The toy is quite easy to take care of. After you use it, take a damp cloth and wipe down the leather. Leather should not be submerged in water. If you really want to have your leather toys last, invest in some leather conditioner and condition your leather toys once every month or two.

When cleaning the ball, I think a quick wipe with a cloth is adequate, too. But if you are switching partners, remove it from the gag and use some soap and water, or boil it, bleach it, or put it in the dishwasher. I do not use soap and water when it is attached, because soap and dry out leather too much.

Store the toy away from moisture and sunlight. Moisture can cause mildew to grow on the leather, and sunlight will cause the leather to fade, dry out, and crack. I just keep mine in a toy box under my bed.

The toy comes packaged in a clear plastic bag with a small tag affixed to it. You can see what the toy is from the packing. I would not call it discreet. The small tag tells you how to care for your new toy so that is will last a long time.



There were no instructions that came with the toy, but a ball gag is pretty self explanatory. I was quite happy with the minimalist packing, but I would not open this toy in front of others if you are concerned about them knowing that you purchase sex toys.

I am more into BDSM then my partner. I like the look of my equipment to be intimidating. I like the stark contrast of black and red. I like it to look rough and painful. It is also important to note I would define myself as a masochistic submissive. My girlfriend, however, is less into those colours. We have another black and red ball gag, but she prefers using this one far more on me for aesthetic reasons.

This toy was lots of fun. We just tried it out the other day during a flogging session. My girlfriend blindfolded me, gagged me, and then started to flog me. She pretended to be very mean, and anytime I tried to use words (which was next to impossible), or touched her, or moved, I would get a nice smack from the flogger.

I do not think there are many ways to use a ball gag. It goes in the mouth and prevents you from speaking. One of the only creative ways I could think of to use this toy, is to use it as jewelry. Just having it hand around the neck can be fun, always looming as a threat. The other interesting way to use it would be to rub something flavored on it. Use chocolate, or use bacon, or use something spicy. All could add something new to the use of this toy.
