Not Very Impressed...
The Impressions crop by Sportsheets is a product that can only be recommended to beginners in the BDSM field. A poor construction of cheap, flimsy materials makes it unsuitable for moderate to advanced users. I can see it having a place as a tool to intimidate for role playing, but as an actual crop it falls short, unable to inflict even a slight sting.

Pros
Good for a role play prop, gentle enough for very light BDSM play
Cons
Flimsy, not painful enough for any but the most basic of beginners
The Impressions crop is made of faux leather with a thin plastic shaft and metal studs holding it together that may or may not be nickel free. The faux leather section that is used impact play is lined with a piece of a red canvas-like cloth. This material is coarse and reminds me a bit of the bag that my tent gets stored in. The faux leather handle on the other end is attached to the plastic shaft with a metal stud through it. This can lead to some structural issues.
After a few tentative taps on myself, I patiently waited until my boyfriend got home to try it out. Once submissively bound, he proceeded to start with light taps that lead to medium strength falls. After I replied that I still didn't feel any pain off of it, he swung it harder.
Then came the news that left me feeling dismayed, "I think I broke it", he said. How was it broken without me feeling more than a bit of pressure? He swung it a few more times, "Yeah, it's definitely broken. It snapped at the rivet that goes through the handle. I wasn't even swinging it that hard." I was disappointed. I had hoped the Impressions crop would have left a nice heart shaped bruise and yet it didn't even cause a soft sting.
This somewhat impractical and broken toy has worked it's way to the bottom of the toy box. I have used it since by holding the handle above the rivet and tapping lightly on my boyfriends cock and balls. This causes him a mild amount of pain and pleasure but overall, we are dissatisfied with this toy. I will be looking into other crops on Eden and will be prepared to spend more on a good one. Eden has a large variety of them and investing a bit more in a quality one seems worth it. My curiosity with impression crops is yet unsatisfied and I would like to have a good shaped mark left on me.
The impressions crop is easy to care for. If it gets dirty, wipe it down with a damp cloth. It can be hung by its strap for easy storage. Conversely at a little over twenty two inches with the strap folded in, it should fit in most toy boxes easily. Ours tends to get lost among the other toys.

Follow-up commentary

I tried gorilla glue and even drilling and "pinning" it with a bit of wire to add support in an attempt to fix it and I could not repair this toy. We even tried turning it around to use it, similar to a cane and it was too flimsy. I'm disappointed; it made its way to the trash.
