Not for Flogging but Great for Teasing

The VibraWhip isn't meant for heavy BDSM play, but it is a neat toy to help tickle and tease your partner. The tails feel interesting and can be used for light BDSM strokes as well.

extremely useful review
The Vibra Whip is a unique type of flogger. Instead of being a regular flogger, the VibraWhip actually is attached to a battery compartment that will make the flogger vibrate during use. This isn't meant to be a full-tailed flogger - in fact, it's meant to be a cat'o'nine tails which makes that this will have nine strands for the flogger part. Each of those nine strands is actually made from a semi-soft leather.

So, my first experience with the flogger wasn't a positive one. We received the flogger in the mail, but because of how it was packaged, the flogger portion had actually broken apart from the base. Being the intelligent beings that we are, we thought it was supposed to be that way, but after attempting to use it and the upper portion just falling off (really, it was hilarious), we figured it was broken. Customer service got us a new one really quickly, and it's in great shape this time. So if your flogger comes in two pieces - well, it isn't supposed to.

The packaging of the whip might actually explain some of this. The handle/battery compartment of the flogger is kept inside a box while the rest of the flogger sticks out from a hole in the bottom of the box. While it might look attractive on the shelf, I'd imagine that it might be difficult to ship and to keep it from breaking since there's no support for the flogger and the tails. The box claims the toy to be novelty and also gives the different vibration patterns that this sex toy has.

The handle of the whip is made from plastic and a light gripping material. It includes a button on the back side that allows for you to change the vibration settings on the whip. At the bottom of the handle is the turn-off bottom that allows for you to insert the batteries.

The batteries can be a little awkward to put in. You put pressure on one side of the battery compartment and you pull on the other side of it, and it pops off just like pop-tap bottle, and then you slip in the two AA batteries that this whip takes for use. There's a handy diagram included, so it's easy to get the batteries right on the first try.

The vibration modes that are included are pretty interesting. There are four different vibration modes on the VibraWhp. When you first turn it on, you get regular vibration, then tap the button again for regular pulsations then again for some fancy-pattern of vibrations, then again for strong vibrations. To turn it off, you have to hold the button down for three seconds.

So how does it work? Decently. It's a little awkward since the person swinging the flogger ends up getting a numb hand very quickly. The vibrations really are focused in the handle of the flogger, so the wielder will feel the vibrations much more than the receiver will. The receiver will be able to fee lthe vibrations, but only if the tails are held directly onto the skin - not actually used as a flogger. If the tails are held onto the skin, the vibrations (and different vibration patterns) can be felt on the skin, but it's pretty weak compared to the actual vibrations themselves. This is much more for teasing than any sort of attempting to put vibrations on the genitals.

As a flogger, the tails are slightly stingy. Even if used lightly, it will produce a very mild sting. It's nothing that will make someone go "ow", but it does sting for a second. We worried about actually using this as a flogger because of the fate of our last one, but for the most part, it does seem to hold up. I'd be a little concerned about using this very heavily though. We've only used it lightly to moderately, and I'm not sure how it would hold up to heavy use. Because of our experience with the damaged one and how it feels when using it moderately, I wouldn't recommend using it heavily.

As stated before, though, this is meant mostly to be a massage "toy". It wasn't really meant to be used a flogger itself. It seems like it was meant for some sensual "bdsm" play - such as tying up your partner, threatening to punish them with this, but instead, just dragging the tails across their body with a light strike now and again. When used on the boyfriend, he commented that it felt pleasurable (like fingernails across his skin), but be careful - during some areas, he actually found it much more ticklish and started giggling. It was fun nonetheless.
Experience
Since leather can never be really sterilized, I don't think I'd recommend sharing this between partners if this is something you will get near open cuts or any bodily fluids. For cleaning, you could use a washcloth dampened lightly with some warm water to wash it down, but be careful not too put too much water onto the leather - leather doesn't like water. Antibacterial wipes used on the tails will help keep it bacteria-free, but still don't give it enough sterilization to switch between partners.

It's not a bad teasing toy, but it really isn't much of a flogger. However, it's definitely unique and provides some neat changes to the realm of BDSM. It just wasn't meant to be used as a real flogger. It seems to be decently made, and if you are looking for something to spice up your sensual relationship with your partner, the VibraWhip helps accomplish that just fine.

Something neat I thought about but didn't try: If you wanted to use the vibrations in a constructive manner, I'd imagine it would be possible to slide the handle of the whip into a condom and use the vibrations directly on the genitals. However, the button would be underneath the condom and may just cause more trouble than it's worth just to wash it all off and everything. However, just putting that out there.
Follow-up commentary
We just never use this anymore. While the idea, in theory, sounds like it would work well, the both of us are pretty big BDSM lovers, so having a flogger that can't really flog means that we don't take it out very often. However, it is good for teasing, but we just don't do that very often with this one either. Still something I like having in my collection 'cause it's neat, but I rarely use it.
