If you're looking for something to add a little fun to your bedroom (or dungeon), this is the paddle for you! It has a nice thud and sting. It's a bit on the small side and suffers from some minor design flaws but over-all I think it's totally worth it.

The paper used in the center is a design flaw.
The OUCH impressions paddle by Sportssheets is a really fun addition to any bedroom (or dungeon)! It's playful and good for a laugh but it also packs a nice slap and thud!
The OUCH paddle is small as paddles go at 12 inches long and 2 ¼ inches wide. However, it gets the job done and delivers a nice hard, stingy spanking. It is made more like a slapper than a paddle. There are basically three layers. One side is solid leather and more rigid, the other side has the impression cut out of it and is very pliable and the middle is a red sheet of paper that allows you to see the working clearly.
I have to admit I'm not totally jazzed about paper being used inside. Obviously, you cannot disinfect paper and if it got wet, it would wrinkle and tear out.I would have preferred for it to be a piece of plastic or silicone or even for the leather on the rigid side to be dyed or painted red. However, if you were to lose the paper, it might lose a small amount of aesthetic appeal but it would not in any way effect how the paddle works so it at least there's that. The leather can be wiped down with a gentle cleaner. I generally treat all my leather goods with a leather protector so it's even easier to clean.
It takes a good hard wack, probably harder than a novice can handle, to get the ouch impression to stay for any length of time. It could be done softer and repeatedly but it would be really hard to hit the exact same spot over and over again. With just a normal slap there will be an impression at least for a little while though. It can be a little hard to get the whole word as well because the first letter is very close to the handle.
So, there are some design flaws but I consider them minor as the over-all product works well and it's fun piece to add to the collection. For the price it's really a nice novelty in real leather.

This paddle has held up well to a good amount of slapping. It's still hard to get a good impression, but it always gets a good laugh when I pull it out of my toy bag so it's worth it just for the novelty!

@Yaoi - I was surprised to discover it was paper when I opened it up. So far it hasn't been a problem but the nature of a paddle is a good amount of wear and tear so I kinda wish they'd used something sturdier.

@Dixie - It does leave an impression if you hit hard enough and honestly that'll be true with just about anything. It's more a matter of what you can take than how the paddle is designed. Any impression paddle will leave a quick impression. For a lasting impression you either need a good hard hit or a stencil.
