How well Leatherbeaten’s English Cock Cage fits that definition might be questionable, but just like that definition the cock cage definitely fits into the BDSM category.

Putting the cage on is pretty simple. Unsnap the smaller of the leather straps and get the larger ring in place behind the testicles with the longer leather strap between the testicles. Insert the penis into the smaller ring and loop the shorter leather strap through the smaller ring and secure with the snap. Now you’re ready to rock – English style.

Leatherbeaten’s version of the English Cock Cage is two rubber rings connected by two leather straps. The rubber rings are like large o-rings. The rubber is smooth and has a little bit of give to it. The leather is soft, thin, pliable, and is finished on all the surfaces that will be in contact with flesh. This helps to make the leather comfortable. One end of each of the leather straps is permanently attached to one of the o-rings and the other end is secured with a snap. The snaps are shiny metal. All parts seem well made.

The two rings on the English Cock Cage are two different sizes as the larger one is meant to go behind the testicles while the smaller one is just around the shaft of the penis. The diameter of the larger rubber ring is 2” while the smaller ring is 1 3/8”. The larger ring diameter is large enough that most guys should be able to get it in place but small enough to allow it to do the job of a cock ring. The longer leather strap seems to stay in place pretty well below the testicles. The cock cage is comfortable to wear and works well. Its one drawback is that both rubber rings cannot be removed from the leather straps.

Since there are several different materials at work with the English Cock Cage, care can be somewhat tricky. Since it is really an external device, it shouldn’t get too much stuff on it, but depending on the activities undertaken while it is on, it will certainly get sweat and possibly other bodily fluids on it. Leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap can be used if necessary as well. There is no problem using soap and water on the rubber rings either, so this is the best bet for cleaning. Bear in mind that this in no way is sterilizing the toy, so sharing is discouraged.

Leatherbeaten’s packaging for the English Cock Cage is relatively simple. It is a stiff plastic package with a cardboard insert. The insert does give some useful information about how to put the cock cage on. This is a nice inclusion for this toy as it gives the end user the best way to get the device in place.

Receiving this toy for review really takes my back. My very first review for EdenFantasys was also an English Cock Cage. It represented one of my earliest forays into cock rings and cock and ball devices. Since that time I have used lots of cock rings and have found some that remain favorites in my collection.

I thought it would be fun to do a little “cage match” between Leatherbeaten’s cock cage and the first one I reviewed. The other cock cage did not use two rings; instead it employed another, longer leather strap with many snaps as the ring that went behind the testicles. This leather strap was more difficult to put on than Leatherbeaten’s solution and I don’t think it provides cock ring functions as well as this one. The other cock ring’s leather straps were also thicker and less pliable so overall it was less comfortable to wear. The one area where the other cock cage wins over Leatherbeaten’s is that I think the metal ring and additional snaps have a cooler look to them than the rubber rings employed here. Overall, I would say that Leatherbeaten's English Cock Cage squeaks out a win in this cage match.
