I picked this up as an intro to pain play, and was a little disappointed - unless my partner swung so hard she couldn't go very long, it didn't hurt at all. As a note to people planning on being the hitter, not the hittee, she found it awkwardly unbalanced (the handle is quite heavy) and had to readjust for that several times. It made aiming difficult, she's usually very precise but it was all over the place.

However, as a tickler/teaser/sensation play toy, it's pretty great. It's got an interesting texture for that, and I actually like it better than most other toys for a post-flogging teasing session. I had found most teasing/tickling toys too light for that particular use, but the extra weight/texture of this one is great.

I suppose it could make a good warm-up toy? I generally prefer spanking with bare hands for a warm-up, but I can see this working really well. I also think it could be a nice toy for pussy slapping, since it's so light, but unfortunately because it's so hard to clean suede I'm not sure I want to use it for that.

Honestly the high point of the Sensua flogger is how damn pretty it is. I will fully admit to being the sort of shallow guy who occasionally buys toys based on appearance alone, and although sometimes it leaves me with a flogger that has no sting, it generally works well as a practice. It's an elegant little flogger, for sure, and its size and classy (for lack of a better word) appearance make it nice for traveling (especially since when I travel, I rarely indulge in heavy pain play, so a tickler is always better to have along than a flogger).

Overall, I'm not sure I'd buy it again given the opportunity, but nor am I eager to get rid of it. It's a nice toy.
