Rather simple, this is a black leather and metal collar. The front has 4 spikes and a loop on a large x-shaped piece of meta;. The closure in the back is a buckle, much like that on a belt. There are two layers of leather loop-stitched together so that the metal from the front plate isn't rubbing against your skin. The pieces of leather are soft and very bendy, the only part of this that is completely rigid is the part where the front plate is.


It's a collar meant for bondage play or for a fashion statement. I like wearing this with certain outfits for nights out with my hubby or friends. The loop on the front could support a leash though I'm not sure how much force it could take as I never put anything on it. I do not recommend this item for people with shorter necks. The plate in the center is large and completely rigid. There is no way to make it bend or move with you, so if you had a shorter neck it might be very uncomfortable. The belt closure on the back is solid metal as well. So it's unlikely to slip out and have the collar fall off at annoying moments.


To clean this I just wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth as needed. As it's not fragile, I store it in one of my larger jewelry boxes with some other spiked jewelry.


As for the effect this has, I've figured out that if I'm interested and my husband really doesn't seem to be taking the hint that this is my best 'billboard' to get him to 'get the picture'. If I go into our bedroom and come out wearing this pretty piece, he starts looking for an excuse to get the kiddies into bed early. He likes to hook his finger around the loop and tug me around gently by it. It makes a particularly convenient hold when I have him in my mouth, hold me still with one hand and fiddle with other things with the other.


We personally LOVE this collar, but, again, given the very wide spiked plate in the front it is not an ideal match for everyone.
