knotty naughty playthings
Great for bondage beginners or self bondage, though still useful for intermediate/advanced users who need a quick restraint. The rope is comfortable, even if you resist violently, you'll not get rope burns - easy to get out of in an emergency or panic situation.

I believe that the Japanese Silk Love Rope Wrist Cuffs were one of the first sex toy sets I ever purchased. The rope is very comfortable and easily loops around wrists, ankles or legs of furniture. It's comfortable and easy to mange, also there is a plastic latch for emergency escape/release if needed.
The mask is ok, but for my face allows for some peeking around the nose. Then again, this not meant as something hard core sensory depravation - you are meant to be comfortable - like a day at the spa - but in bondage!
The Japanese Silk Love Rope Wrist Cuffs is a much nicer introduction to bondage and wrist restraint, then say, handcuffs. Because the rope wraps around your wrist twice, it does not pinch or dig into the skin. for those of you just starting out, you'll soon learn that the more the rope loops around, the less pressure is applied to a singular particular part or the body. The more wraps, the more supportive it is.
In time the Japanese Silk Love Rope Wrist Cuffs will begin to fray, but it will still endure - only aesthetic will keep you from using it. But perhaps by then, you will have upgraded yourself and begun to work with ropes and leather in knots and lengths of your own design and choosing. In the meantime, the brightly colored rope makes it easy to use in the dark, even for a "do it yourself" project.
As it is, it is very practical if you are just starting out in BDSM and are curious to light sensory depravation and restraint. If you use the set, it makes for a great and easy scenario set up - by blindfolding and restraining yourself on the bed (or couch or dining room table) for when your partner gets home. Preparing to give yourself as a birthday present is always a nice gift to receive!

Follow-up commentary

The blindfold is long since lost and the cuffs are about to be permanently retired.
As I mentioned in the comments/questions below, the rope itself becomes frayed after a time. While the integrity of the nylon is still quite strong, it doesn't look good anymore. I don't like to be wasteful or shallow, but I've decided it is time to throw the cuffs away. I have simply run out of uses for this item.
Though I still recommend it for people who want to try some light BDSM, I have since moved on to lengths of rope from Home Depot or more "professional" (high end) looking leather and metal wrist/ankle cuffs for my hog-tie or other restraint needs.

Anyway, to answer your question the best I can - the instructions were mostly about safety (which is ALWAYS important, regardless of being a beginner or expert) and then use instructions, in the sense of how to use the double-loop/figure eight rope, how it loosens and tightens, etc. I say, answer your question the best I can because ... I don't actually still have the instructions. Or if I do - I can't find them : / Sorry. But the rope is fun! Good for ankles as well as wrists - and "hog tied" if you divide the loops so that you put one loop (rather then two) around your ankles first, roll onto your stomach, then feed your hands through the last two loops, let it tighten around your wrists and ta-da! Self hog tied (where if needed, you can get yourself out of on your own)
The rope doesn't have any actual "ends" to it, as it is a single piece of rope, looped around into a double figure eight. So the fray I am talking about is along the edges - the effect is something like taking velcro to a sweater, it gets fuzzy. The rope integrity is intact, just begins to have a messy look. As for the clip, it is what the double figure eight loops are fed through. Something like a large button, with four, evenly spaced holes. The center piece between the holes is where the safety latch is - where (with some effort) you flip it up, and the ropes come out of their particular grooves and unravels (for unravels release, if say the person is struggling/panicking so much the rope continues to tighten and there are no scissors on hand (as there should always be when rope is used). Otherwise if the person is kept calm, the clip release isn't necessary, as the loops can simply be loosened to free one hand/wrist, then another. Think, Chinese finger trap as the general mechanics)
