Kinky Tickling
The Leather Tickler is made by Sportsheets and tickles just like it's supposed to. It comes in a variety of colors, is a high-quality product, and is really easy to use - even as an impact toy. I just wish the leather was softer.

Pros
High-quality, tickles, easy to use, pretty colors
Cons
Leather isn't softened, doesn't like bodily fluids/lube
The Leather Tickler is a tickler made by Sportsheets and intended for tickling of your victim. This tickler, like all of Sportsheet's ticklers, is made with the tickler portion at the end of the rod while the rod is made of plastic. It's a little over two feet long - adding a couple inches because those leather falls are about five inches by themselves. The plastic rod has an extra plastic "cover" up where the falls meet the rod, and it also has an extra layer of plastic added near the bottom for use as a "handle". The leather falls come in purple, red, black, and blue.
The packaging for this is pretty basic. Since the tails don't seem to get injured from being folded, it just comes as-is from EF. It has a small piece of cardboard attached to the plastic rod that lets you know the product information as well as it includes little "games" to play with your partner on it.
This tickler seems to be nicely well-made. From what I can tell, the leather falls appear to be superglued into the little holder at the top. We haven't had any problems with it falling out. The leather from the tails is really not softened. It's basically regular, scratchy leather. There are eight separate tails on this. When you first get it, it's going to shed a bit, so just shake it over the trashcan a bit. But the tails are really scratchy and not really soft, smooth, or supple like most flogger leather. It isn't scratchy when used as a tickler, but it definitely doesn't feel soft on the fingers.
There are basically two uses for this tickler. You can use it as an impact toy or you can use it as a tickler. Of course, if you are creative, you can use it for other uses. Since I'm pretty sure this is only intended for tickling, the superglue probably won't hold up to lots of impact use. I'd recommend buying a small flogger if that's what you want to use this for. However, for the price, I'm sure you'd get a decent amount of impact use out of this before it unglued (then you could reglue it too.)
For tickling purposes, this works pretty well. It ends up gently grazing against the skin and produces a slight ticklish sensation. It seems to work best if you use a light touch and slide it very softly against the skin as well. To increase sensation, placing a blindfold over the person you are tickling seems to help a lot. The tails do end up being a bit uneven in length when this is turned sideways, but that just helps increase the tickling sensation. The first couple times of use, it might leave some small fuzzies on the skin, but it's no big deal. To me, this definitely feels a lot more ticklish then sensual, and the boyfriend agrees. Once the skin is really sensitive though, it might feel more sensual than ticklish - it really just depends on the person.
As an impact toy, it works relatively well. It's a bit hard to control since the handle is so long, but it definitely leaves a sting. Since the handle is flexible and the tails are unfinished, it definitely doesn't feel soft as an impact toy - it stings. It really depends on where you end up hitting with the tails though - if you end up using the very tips of the tails, it stings. If you hit with the middle portion of the tails, it just doesn't sting at all. That'd be a bit hard to control and aim because of the length of the rod though, so just make sure that your play partner is okay with a bit of a sting before you begin - just in case.
Leather doesn't really enjoy being coated in lubricant or bodily fluids, so try to keep this in clean, dry areas. The leather can be wiped down with a damp washcloth, but make sure you allow it to dry before putting it in storage. For storage, the tails don't seem to care about wrinkled up or shoved in small places, so you should be able to store it wherever you have the extra space. I think we're going to get a really large vase and store all of our ticklers in that like a tickler bouquet.
Overall, the Leather Tickler is one of the nicer Sportsheets ticklers. The leather is a bit scratchy, and I wish they would have softened it, but the rest of the product is made with quality. If you are looking for a tickler that isn't the "usual" feather tickler, this one definitely works great and can even double as an impact toy!

Experience
As a sidenote, while Jor was watching me tape the video review, he looks at the little leather tickler and goes "Pssh. That wouldn't hurt to be whipped with." (I had tested it on myself.) I hit him once and he retracted his statement.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
The Leather Tickler is still one of our best ticklers. We don't use it as much as we do the chain tickler, but we still pull it out once in awhile to play with. It has stopped shedding as much with the little pieces of leather, but it still sheds every once in awhile. It's basically done though. All of the leather pieces still feel nice and supple, and they're all still attached really well to the rod itself.
