The Vanilla Bondage Kit is everything it says on the tin: a very vanilla "bondage" kit that contains ties and a blindfold. It's good for beginners, for romantics who want to play with restraints, and anyone who is daunted by more intense bondage. Advanced bondage aficionados should definitely give this one a pass, as it's just a box of disappointment.

The restraint and blindfold material is incredibly soft and silky. The kit contents are a light, creamy colour and lightly vanilla scented. The blindfold is also vanilla scented, which may be nice for some, but if you have sensitive skin or allergies it might aggravate them. The sewing on the ties and blindfold looks nice, but after a while the stitches can come apart, especially if you decide to step up the intensity when using this. The kit is a "one size fits all" kind of kit, but the blindfold may allow for peeking with some people. The ties wrap snugly, and the material is soft enough that light tugging will not cause burns or abrasions on skin. Be careful not to tug too hard, because the restraint material can rip and tear.

I bought the Vanilla Bondage kit to help ease my wife into the idea of adding a little bondage fun to the bedroom, but it quickly became clear that I should have bought a more heavy duty kit. Personally, the kit was too vanilla, and way too flimsy. The Vanilla Bondage kit is more suited for a more romantic tie-up fantasy, rather than actual bondage. With only two silk ties and a flimsy blindfold, the kit quickly became boring. The ties are easy to get out of, and the blindfold kept slipping if my wife moved her head too much.

The tie and blindfold can be cleaned by putting them inside a lingerie and washing on a delicate cycle. I hung them up to dry, and I haven't tried ironing, as they didn't wrinkle. They are easy to store inside their container.

Personally, I was disappointed by the kit. I should not have held such high expectations for a kit labelled "vanilla", but I did and paid the price. It was fun later on for a romantic night with candles and roses, but it definitely should not be labelled bondage.
