Is that a Flogger in Your Pocket...?
Although this flogger was a bit of a let down visually, the performance wasn't impacted by that. If you are looking for a light flogger that allows you to control the intensity, and delivers mostly sting that won't leave marks, this might be just the thing to add to your toy box.

After reviewing another flogger, I decided to add to the collection again. Most of the impact items I own are solid black, so the appeal of this one, for me, was the fact that it had a wooden handle, which gives it a different look and vibe. First impressions? I wasn't thrilled. The handle looks less like stained wood and more like brown even-toned plastic. It is wood, but it certainly doesn't look like a luxury item.
It is very light, and can easily be held and swung. As with any flogger, you should start off gently and slowly, gradually building intensity if you and your partner desire, and be sure to avoid damaging sensitive areas. I'd say this one is well suited for beginners, as it's so light that you can easily control the intensity. It doesn't "get away from you" because of the weight of the flogger itself and the momentum involved in your swing. The falls of this flogger are quite stiff, and deliver quite a sting when swung with gusto. That being said, there was little to no bruising or long-term marking from use, the redness faded reasonably quickly as well. No one at the office would be able to tell you were flogged the night before when you are standing around the water cooler. It delivers sting, with little to no thud, so if that's what you like in your impact play, you're in luck with this one. You could use the falls of this flogger for various sensation play as well, to tickle and tease your partner, and follow that tickle up with a surprise sting.
The falls and loop of this flogger are made from faux leather, which is decent looking and not overly plastic in appearance. The loop is attached to the back end of the mahogany handle with a metal rivet, and is sized to fit a wide range of users. The falls are attached to the other end of the handle, and then some very shiny vinyl is wrapped around that joining point. It is another thing, along with the cheap look of the wood, which detracts from the appeal of the flogger overall. The falls themselves number 15, and are between 1/4" and 1/3" wide. They are approximately 18" in length, and tend to remain stiff and flat as opposed to being slack. The mahogany handle is grooved, which allows you to get and keep a comfortable secure grip when you use it.
As I'm unsure how well the wood is sealed, I would stick with spot cleaning this flogger, instead of submerging it or soaking it to clean it. It doesn't have much call to need deep cleaning, but a damp cloth should take care of it if you need to wipe something off of it. The faux leather could certainly take a bit more water exposure, but the joins would be my concern, as water may weaken the bond of any adhesives used.

Experience
I wanted this to look classy and elegant, with the addition of the dark wood, but the appearance didn't thrill me at all. But, I have to admit, that even if the wood had looked lovely, the impact sensation doesn't appeal to me as much as some other floggers I own. This one is ALL sting, with not a bit of thud. That isn't really a negative, it's just a matter of personal preference. If you are curious about impact play and want something to start with, this is a good choice, as it's low intensity unless you really put your back into it.
Follow-up commentary
15 months after original review
This is another time that I wish there was a button for "I like this the same amount." This flogger is still the same, in my mind. It doesn't look like a high quality item, but it's holding up well to use, storage and cleaning.

Good notes on how to use one. I have to come back and review if/when we start some flogging play. Thanks
