I Love Cleo Too!
The Sparticus Loves Cleo flogger is an amazing flogger that you will love to hate whether you are the Dominant or the submissive. The Dom(me) will be annoyed by the frustrating handling of it while loving the sensation it provides while the submissive will just love and hate the sensation. It's a high-quality flogger that provides one of the most interesting sensations I've seen in a flogger in awhile.

Pros
Interesting thuddy and stingy feel, high-quality, pretty impact toy, bit sadistic
Cons
Not for beginners/hard to handle, tails don't clump, tails aren't flexible
The Sparticus Loves Cleo flogger is a pink and black leather flogger made by Ruff Doggie Styles. I almost always love their products, so this was another product that I just had to own. I'm still trying to figure out where this flogger got that name though. The flogger is about thirty inches in total length which is about the average size for a scene flogger. The handle is about seven inches. The handle, tails, and hanging strap are made from leather. There was no specific packaging with this flogger; not even a tag was included.
I just knew I had to have this flogger. First off, it's made by Ruff Doggie Styles which is a company that usually makes great products at amazingly great prices. Second off, the braiding style on the handle looks gorgeous. Third off, the tails are freakin' huge; I've never seen tails this thick or this wide before. Forth off, it's weird to see rounded edges to the tails like that. I've seen it discussed in flogging books, but I've never actually seen a flogger with rounded tails.
The handle is actually extremely comfortable in my hand. It feels just like any other flogger's handle that I use on a regular basis. The braiding is actually really gorgeous, and I like how close together they made the lines of braids. The flogger is not weighted at all with the tails being so much more heavier than the handle. The hanging strap is a hanging strap; it is not a wrist strap. It will work as a wrist strap, but that's not why it exists. The handle should work just fine for those with varying sizes of hands including both females or males.
This is not a flogger intended to be used by a beginner whether that beginner be the Dominant or the submissive. This thing just handles like a crazy bull. Really. There's usually at least one "stupid tail" that just won't stay in the bundle like the rest of the tails do. Almost every swing, it's just out there swinging around stupidly. The flogger itself is definitely tough to handle just due to the heavy weight that is in very few tails. Most floggers this heavy would be a mop-type flogger (80+ tails), but this one just has really broad tails that are really heavy. The tails do not get caught up in each other at least, but I would highly, highly say to pick another flogger if you haven't used another flogger before. This one is definitely hard to aim.
When it comes to the submissive side of things, this flogger gives the most interesting sensation I've felt in a flogger. It actually gives a thuddy and a stingy sensation at once. Because the tails are so heavy, it just has to feel thuddy - it just has to. However, since the tails are rounded in such an interesting manner and because each tail is so broad, the tails also give a pretty interesting stingy sensation. The subbie agrees with my interpretation. He agrees that it's definitely one of the most interesting sensations he's ever felt with a flogger. For that reason, because it's so such a stingy flogger while still giving that deep-muscle sensation at the same time, I'd highly recommend against using this on someone who is still new to impact play. It could end up being a negative experience since the sensation is pretty intense; this is not a warm-up flogger.
Honestly, if I was going to describe the texture/feel of the flogger, it feels like tire treads. For real. The flogger tails are completely flat, so there isn't any "tread" to it, but the thickness/flexibility reminds me of a tire tread paddle a mean sadist Dom-friend of mine has. This flogger doesn't leave any tire-tread marks like his paddle does, but it still stings like his paddle does.
Keep this away from bodily fluids and lubricant. To clean it, you can just use leather cleaner. Leather doesn't like soap though. We haven't had a problem with cutting the skin, but if this flogger does, make it a one-partner toy. For storage, use the hanging strap to hang it somewhere.
I'm really, really impressed by the Sparticus Loves Cleo flogger. It gives a thuddy and stingy sensation that any sadist/masochist is bound to love. It's not a beginner flogger, though, and while it looks welcoming, it will be the new toy you love to hate. It's a high-quality flogger that I absolutely adore.

Follow-up commentary
12 months after original review
I still like this flogger, but it doesn't get used nearly as much as some of our others. It's just a large flogger, and that it can make it a bit harder to control than some of our other ones. The flogger, though, certainly is high-quality, and despite using it multiple times, it shows no signs of wear and looks brand new. We still love this one!
