Have You Been Very, Very, Very Naughty?

The Interchangeable Crop Top System is a great crop system; it's got several heads (and you can purchase more if you get bored) which are easy to use and swap out. It provides great sting without much work, and isn't so long as to be unwieldy. It seems like it can stand up to abuse, and dole out some as well.

Use

The Interchangeable Crop Top System by Sportsheets is an innovative crop system, where one handle can be used with a variety of different heads, with an ease of use that's unrivaled. The Crop Top System comes with the crop handle, and three different crop head styles, a red hand, a black standard crop, and a purple heart.

Capable of providing a serious sting, when force is put behind it, or a gentle slap when it's used gently, this crop can be used in first-time roleplay or in more serious scenes. It can be used on the fleshier areas of the body (thighs and buttocks) or, with care, on the more sensitive areas (breasts, soles of the feet).

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This toy is made of a few components.

First you have the crop base, which is about two feet long. The handle is made of plastic, wrapped to look like tape or leather, which provides a good grip. There is also a loop included, which can be used to hang your crop for storage or for extra stability during use. I found that both the handle and the loop, made of plastic, had uncomfortable edges that hadn't been removed after the manufacturing process. Secondly, the loop, which should have been glued down (based on the white glue residue I can see) has detached and can be moved around the length of the crop. Luckily, there are no other signs of poor workmanship. Each of the crop heads are made of faux leather and are sturdy but slightly bendable. While the heads do have a faint leather smell, and the crop has a plastic smell, neither is noticeable unless you are deliberately sniffing.

The crop itself is fairly inflexible, rather than being whippy, and balances about two inches from the end of the handle. Above the handle is a braided section (probably nylon, but no materials are listed) and two inches above that is the portion where the crop heads are inserted. Each crop top has a shaft, which leads into the crop head and is secured by white or black thread. The red hand is the thickest, the purple heart the thinnest, and the black crop in the middle.

Each crop head has an inch at the base where it can be slid into the crop handle. Once it's pressed in all the way, it is surprisingly secure. When I first inserted a crop head, I waved it around (much like an overzealous orchestra conductor) to see if I could make it fly off--but it stayed secure. It's not so stuck that it cannot be turned or repositioned once inserted, but it's in quite nicely. To remove it, you grasp the crop head and pull. It removes with a pop (leading me to believe that, at least part of the staying power is suction related). The crop heads are easy to remove and install, which means that people with arthritis in their hands, or people with difficulty grasping or pulling will not find this crop system a difficult to use.

Performance

This crop performed surprisingly well; it was incredibly easy to use, and easy to switch out heads on the fly--all you had to do was pull the first off, and slide the second on, and that takes, at most, fifteen seconds.

The crop heads had varying levels of sting intensity, with the hand being the most intense, and the black crop head being the least intense. The amount of pain you're going to inflict does depend, though, on how much force is put behind this; a full swing with the hand will cause rather rapid red marks to appear (and yes, you do get the satisfying swing sound of a crop being put to use with each of the heads), whereas a swing from two feet done at a quarter strength will only provide a mild sting. This can cause bruising, if you continue hitting the same place, so do proceed with caution if you don't want to bruise your bottom. The length of the crop means that you don't have to swing it from yards in the air to get nice impact, another benefit for those who will be using the crop in smaller spaces or who don't have great freedom of movement.

Although each of the crop heads CAN be used without the handle, I advise against it, you just don't have enough room to swing and it becomes more of a hassle than a benefit. For using it, sans handle, the purple heart performed the best because it has the longest length before the crop head starts.

Care and Maintenance

The handle can be wiped down after use with paper towels, or a toy cleaner, but I would recommend against submerging the entire crop, as the thread may not take kindly to water over time. The handles should be cleaned with a damp (not wet!) paper towel for regular maintenance, or if they get dirty, soap and warm water can be used--but DO NOT toss it in the sink. Wipe it down, don't drown it.

This toy is fairly large, so it has no subtlety to it--it is, quite obviously a crop, even without the handles on it. It can be stored, though, in most full-size drawers, or hung inside a closet. It can even be stood up against a wall in a corner, but I find that keeping it in a drawer works well. The crop heads fit inside a standard desk drawer, but I keep them all together in the same toy drawer.

Packaging

When I carried this box home from the mail reception area, I was asked, "What is that?" and my first response was, "Surprisingly large." The box is about 30 inches long, so if a package that big is going to give you a problem, you might want to skip picking up that delivery until you have the luxury of privacy. The packaging was a giant pain in the ass, though, but I suppose that's appropriate for a crop.

The box itself has a woman in a bra on the front, with a large cutout window showing each part of the crop top system. The back of the packaging has a step by step guide of how to insert and remove a crop head, which is very helpful if you're lost. It shows all of the other options for interchangeable crop top heads, and another visual of a woman with the crop against a man's derrière. There are no materials listed, but this product is made in Taiwan.

Once you remove the inside portion of the packaging, you've got a large cardboard sheet with the pieces of the crop top system zip-tied individually inside. Because they were zipped so closely, I was unable to get scissors in far enough to snip the ties. I wound up totally butchering the packaging so I could remove the crop tops--so set aside a little time to tearing your toys out of their vestiges.
Follow-up commentary
While this doesn't get used a lot, I still think it's a great system. It's a credit to how easy it is to store that I can't actually remember where I stashed it, at the moment. Oops.
