This product is meant to be used as a gag, and would most likely be best for couples play. Since it is a beginner's gag, it probably won't meet the expectations/standards of a more experienced person. For a "first time" ball gag, it's not bad.

This product is composed of a very attractive, pearly silicone (the mouthpiece) and leather (the straps) with silver snaps on the front and a velcro closure in the back.

The mouthpiece is contoured similarly to a pacifier, with a narrower neck and bulbous tip. There is a base of sorts that rests against the lips and chin during use, also composed of silicone. The Tantus logo is stamped into the silicone in the lower part of this base.

The leather of the straps isn't really high-quality, which was a bit of a letdown. It's soft and pliable, but has a cheap feel to it. One side is smooth and finished, and the other side has a bit of a napped finish, making it a bit softer. This is the side that goes against the skin. Each strap has velcro on one end and a snap on the other. The end with the snap is threaded through a hole in each side the mouthpiece's base, and then folded back onto itself and snapped to keep the strap and mouthpiece together. This feature makes it possible to disassemble the ball gag in order for easy cleaning. The velcro does hold really well during use, so there is no worry that it will loosen or anything that might disrupt or distract you from your activities.

Each strap (when snapped shut) is approximately 12" long and just over 1/2" wide, and the base of the mouthpiece is between 2.5 and 3" wide. When fully assembled, this product measures approximately 25.5" from velcro tip to velcro tip; more than enough length to fit around the average sized head comfortably. Also, each strip of velcro is 5" long, so there is plenty of room for adjustment, allowing a comfortable fit for a larger or smaller user.

The insertable part of the mouthpiece measures approximately 3" around at the neck, and 5" around at the bulb.

Since this is a BEGINNER's gag, it does allow for some wiggle room- It will not silence the wearer. I'm not sure if this is possible with all ball gags, but with this one, if the wearer is not consciously keeping their lips closed around the neck of the gag, they will make sound. Though the wearer will be unable to talk, they will be able to moan and make other sounds without difficulty.
This ball gag will hold up to quite a bit, and won't even show marks where the wearer bites down on it. It's wondrously smooth and resilient.
The velcro closure makes for easy use, whether you're putting it on yourself or your partner. It also makes removal quick and easy, though long hair can sometimes get caught.

One thing that I noticed during use is that this gag is not tongue piercing friendly. I have an average size (and length) tongue stud, but this gag pressed so tightly against my tongue that it made the piercing ache. I believe that one would not encounter this problem with a classic style ball gag.

As I said before, the mouthpiece and straps of this product can be taken apart to make cleaning easier.
The leather straps are not water proof, so if cleaning is necessary, they can be cleaned with leather products or a slightly dampened rag with a small bit of soap, then be laid-out to air dry.
The silicone mouthpiece can be boiled, run through the dishwasher, cleaned in a bleach solution, or washed with toy cleaner (wipes or solution) or mild soap.

A few notes:
If you choose to boil it, the suggested time is 3 minutes.
If you choose to run it through the dishwasher, put it on the top rack and run the dishwasher without soap.
If you choose to bleach it, use 10% bleach and 90% water. It is suggested that you wash it with mild soap and water afterward to get rid of the bleach smell.

This product came in a simple plastic casing, the kind that just pops open. It's really nothing fancy, but it's definitely not subtle or worth keeping. Within the clear plastic, there was a heavy piece of paper, describing the product.

Silicone can be used with water based lubricant. Though, why you'd need lube for something that will simply be held in your mouth, I don't know.

Also, I wanted to point out that the product page says "Batteries Included", but since this is not a toy that requires batteries, that is a typo of sorts.

I had to wash it once or twice (when it was brand new) before the odd smell diminished enough that I felt comfortable putting it in my mouth. Now, it just has a very light smell which is only noticeable when the gag is right under your nose and you're inhaling deeply, TRYING to smell it.

We bought it as an introductory gag, since I'd never worn one before, and my partner wanted to try it. After our first go-round with it, we decided we liked gags, but wanted something different from this one.

I was actually rather impressed with this product. Since I am relatively new to the use of ball gags, I wasn't sure how sturdy it would be, especially since it is made for beginners. In the throes of passion, I clenched my jaw in ecstasy and bit down on the mouthpiece, HARD. I was worried that my teeth would leave deep indentations, or even break through the material! After removing it and examining it closely, I was shocked to discover that my bite hadn't damaged our new toy in the slightest! Not so much as a mark!

Sadly, other than its durability, we didn't find much that we like about this product. Sure, it's sturdy and attractive and easy to use and clean... But it's definitely not comfortable, and the fact that the mass of it is held within the mouth is a Con, especially because it presses against the tongue and (for me) resulted in an aching tongue piercing.
