The Good Girl Bad Girl Blindfold by Booty Parlor is a silky, reversible blindfold intended to shield your vision and simultaneously add to the tone of the evening by plastering a label over your eyes. I find the whole thing a little silly, but I suppose it does leave room for creativity, if you're so inspired. If you're blindfolded, you can't see if you're a good girl or a bad girl! Is the label more for your partner? Do you put the blindfold on and lie out on the bed like a gift for them to find, so that they can see what kind of mood you're in? Good or bad? Do they put it on you and make you guess which one it is? Are you a good girl? Or a bad girl? I see great potential here for a little feminization play with a male partner who enjoys humiliation.

Blindfolds enhance your other senses, by removing your sense of sight. You will feel things more intensely, and your sense of hearing, smell, and taste will be stronger to compensate for the loss of your vision. You can play games, identifying what your partner is touching you with, or you can simply tease and sensitize their skin until even just blowing gently on their flesh will send them writhing with delight. Use edible body paint, a plate of fruits, scented massage oil, rabbit fur, a feather, a wartenburg wheel, or any other sensation play that you can come up with. Let your imagination run wild.

The Good Girl, Bad Girl Blindfold is supposed to be "elegant" and "sexy", but...for me, it falls more along the lines of "ineffective" and "tacky". On the other hand, I am a lover of sensory play and an experienced user of blindfolds. For a beginner, this may be the perfect foray into some cute, non-intimidating role playing and sensual BDSM. For the more experienced...seek out and invest in something of a higher quality. I, for one, prefer to use this as a sleep mask than as a functioning sensual aid.

The Booty Parlor website claims that this blindfold is "100% silk" and that it "feels luxurious". I disagree. It feels like very poor quality silky fabric. It almost feels sticky or tacky when you slide your fingers over it. That sensation also translates when you wear it over your eyes, which makes it less comfortable than I had hoped.

The blindfold is not padded enough. With very, very dim light in the room (such as candlelight, perhaps), things may seem fairly dark, but if the room is reasonably well lit, you will be able to see the glow of the light clearly through the blindfold.

At first, I thought that the black dye of the lettering thread had bled into the light pink fabric, but...it turns out the fabric is so thin that you can see the stray ends of the stitching right through it! The stitching on the cursive letters that spell out "Good Girl" on one side and "Bad Girl" on the other is not sloppy, but the visible threads floating around behind the fabric makes it look low quality. Unfortunately, the rest of the stitching that holds the two sides together, as well as the ruffly trim, are a little messy, with some flyaway threads here and there. The ruffles are scrunched up in some places and stitched unevenly. The fabric also looks like it was aligned poorly before stitching, as it has some crinkles and creases instead of lying perfectly flat.

To its credit, the lacy elastic band is very stretchy and soft, though not at all adjustable for smaller heads. It seems to be stitched on firmly. However, it is attached in a very strange place. Instead of being attached so that the elastic goes around your head over the tops of your ears, it almost seems more comfortable to wear it down below your earlobes, because of the angle at which the band is attached. They point downwards, instead of being level.

One final point about the product material...I was wearing mascara when I first tried this blindfold and the light pink side was pressed to my face. The mascara stained the fabric. Not good at all! I haven't managed to clean it off.

This blindfold fits me comfortably and I truly feel that it has enough stretch to fit most any sized head. Fortunately, you cannot noticeably feel the lettering on your face when you wear it, which was a concern I had prior to trying the blindfold. However, it does not do the best job of blocking out the light. It is not shaped to include enough of a notch for the bridge of one's nose, so the blindfold just sits atop, leaving gaps that you can see through quite clearly. Light leaks in easily, no matter how it's positioned. Because of the poor shaping, I can see perfectly fine if I just look down along my nose. That certainly damages the sense of mystery that you are most likely going for when adding a blindfold to your session. Also, because of the way that the strap is attached, the blindfold has a tendency to ride up, covering more of your forehead than your eyes.

While it doesn't thoroughly block my vision, it does block enough light that it is useful as a sleeping mask. I live in the city and, despite my curtains, it's bright in my apartment all through the evening. I often wear this mask to make it just a little darker and cozier in my room.

At this time, I'm waiting to hear back from Booty Parlor about how to go about getting the mascara out of the fabric! I will update this section as soon as I have more information. I gently hand-washed with cool water and mild laundry detergent, as recommended on the packaging. That didn't seem to do any damage...but it didn't help with the stains either.

As for storage...I just toss it in the drawer of my bedside table so I can grab it if it's just a little too bright in my room when I'm trying to sleep.

Booty Parlor has absolutely gorgeous packaging. It is black with light pink swirls and lettering, which look elegant and feminine. A small fabric pull tab enables you to slide out the "drawer" which holds the blindfold. The only directions included are with regard to washing the blindfold by hand with cool water and silk-friendly soap. Unfortunately, this lovely box houses a horribly disappointing product...Don't judge a book by its cover! Recycle the package or use it to store other sensual toys.

I also own the Booty Parlor Good Girl, Bad Girl Wrist Cuffs. They're adorable, but also rather flimsy. They make a great fashion accessory, but they don't serve the purpose of actually binding anyone, as cuffs should. This seems to be a common theme with Booty Parlor products...
