Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with being vanilla, it takes all kinds. But there is a certain category of toy that is marketed as kind of non-threateningly kinky for curious vanilla folks that I just find a little, well, boring. I am a very sensual person, but I also like intensity, and this toy didn't deliver much in that regard.

I play with a submissive who enjoys being restrained and tickled. I hadn't played with feathers much in the past, so I purchased this, curious to try. Surprisingly, this toy isn't actually that intensely tickle-inducing. It is soft, and feels nice, but it's not something that elicited enough of a reaction from my bottom to get pulled out of the toy bag a second time. My fingers work a lot better in that regard.

There are definitely situations where I can see this useful- during a long, teasing, sensual massage, or for sensory play while warming somewhat up for impact play (alternating hard and soft strokes). But even then, I think a fur lined paddle might be handier for that.

It might make a cute accessory for a French Maid costume? For what it's worth, it is pretty and nicely designed. The long handle offers a convenient reach, and the feathers are very soft, glossy and good quality (not sure what bird they come from, or how the bird would feel about its feathers being re-purposed as a kinky toy!) It comes in a nice variety of colors and is inexpensive enough to be worth trying if it appeals to you. I will probably pull it out on occasion, but usually I find myself wanting something a bit more potent.

This isn't a bad toy, but it's just not a great toy for me. I need a stronger sensation for sensory play and teasing. So I would say this is fine for vanilla folks who want to "spice things up" but aren't quite ready for the rabbit skin flogger.

Honestly, this thing pretty much never leaves my toy box. It just doesn't do enough for me. Maybe I'll give it to one of my friends who has a cat?
