The very first thing I noticed about this paddle when I opened the box was how large it was. It was actually much bigger in real life than it seemed on the website. When I inspected it, I also took note of how heavy it is. This is a good thing and a bad thing all rolled into one: on the positive side, it seems substantial and like it will hold up well over the long haul. On the bad side, it has the potential to tire out a person’s wrist, and it also has the real potential of hurting someone if used incorrectly.

I was not impressed at all by the fur side. I thought the fur looked tacky. The fur side does, however, provide some softening when used. The person on the receiving end does not feel quite the sting of the straight leather side. In spite of the appearance, it did provide some nice sensation play.

Now, using the paddle was fun, don’t get me wrong. I used it on hubby and he used it on me, and it does provide a nice experience. It got too heavy for me a lot more quickly than it did for my hubby because he has much stronger arms than I do.

Now, we both felt strongly that if this paddle was used by someone who is not experienced in BDSM, it could cause some real damage to a person if used too long or is wielded with too much strength. At the least, this paddle will cause bruising and everyone needs to be mindful of this. I think if it were used in a very rough way, it could cause some further damage to soft tissue as well.

All in all, we did like it. It is a fine addition to anyone’s BDSM toy box, as long as you sort of ignore the cheap fur and you use it wisely.

This paddle has held up nicely and the fur isn't coming off, which was a concern for me when I first got it.
