This set is pretty but less than functional. It’s great to use to accessorize an outfit, but if you want to incorporate much struggling into your hog tie play you’d be better off using other cuffs with the hog tie piece. The cuffs are uncomfortable to wear if you plan to move your arms or legs against them, and they scratch and dig into your skin.

Pros
Patent look, cute for costume accessory, hog tie piece seems sturdy.
Cons
Unfinished backing on cuffs uncomfortable, cuffs scratch and dig into skin.
The Bound By Diamonds Hog Tie set is best suited for costume wear or light play. The pieces have a cute, if somewhat cheap, look. The cuffs don’t look bad when worn as costume accessories with an outfit and hold up to gentle play and light tugging. If you’re planning on a night of struggling while hog tied, however, this is not the set you’ll want.
The Hog Tie set consists of five pieces: 4 cuffs and 1 hog tie piece. It is one size fits most. The cuffs are each 2” wide, and made of black PVC/patent leather. They have a nice, shiny look. They are only as thick as the material they are made of, and there is no finishing stitching around the edges. The backs are unfinished, and the straight stitching attaching the Velcro and polyester can be seen on the backs. The backs are scratchy on the skin.
The wrist cuffs are 10” long, while the ankle cuffs are 11”. Both sets have a Velcro piece that is 5 3/4" long and 1” wide for fastening. The cuffs can be wrapped to fit almost any size wrist or ankle. The Velcro can be trimmed to fit.
Each cuff has a small 3/4" D-ring that is attached by polyester webbing and 10 clear crystals on the PVC in two rows of five, right where the Velcro starts, for a decorative look. The cuffs can be attached to the included hog tie piece, as well as a leash or each other with a connector.
The hog tie piece has a 2" O-ring for its center. Four 4 1/4" long, 1" wide PVC/patent leather straps are attached to this ring. These straps are looped through and secured with a rivet. The other end of the straps is attached to a 2" long slide hook. Twenty-five clear crystals are on each strap, in a 5 x 5 pattern. They fill a 1" square in the center of each strap for decoration. The straps on this piece seem to be securely attached to the hardware.
All the hardware on the cuffs and hog tie piece is silver in color and nickel-free.
The cuffs look nice on, and are easy to attach and remove. They were very uncomfortable, however. The backing was scratchy if the cuffs had any wiggle room underneath them. The hog tie piece worked well and didn’t stretch or come apart. We did notice when we started to incorporate more struggling that the tops of the wrist cuffs cut uncomfortably into the wrists and ankles. The D-ring on the cuffs held, but really pulled against the loop.
The cuffs and the hog tie piece are easy to clean. They can be wiped with a damp soapy cloth and dried with a soft cloth. The pieces can be stored flat or rolled.
My husband really liked the look of these on me, especially paired with a complete PVC/patent outfit. But they really were more decorative than anything. As I wore the cuffs and moved around, they were very uncomfortable on my skin. We tried to tighten them but then I felt like I was going to cut off my circulation. Posing in them was no problem, but when he attached the hog-tie piece, they really were uncomfortable and either scratched my skin or dug into my wrists and ankles. It’s unfortunate these aren’t lined or backed to be smooth and not have the stitching exposed – that would alleviate one of the problems. These cuffs we’ll likely only use to get the look before turning to other cuffs for more serious and strenuous play.
The hog tie piece seems sturdy and we tried it out with other more comfortable cuffs. The rivets held and didn’t seem to be coming loose after vigorous struggling.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it5 months after original review
While we found the cuffs nicely completed a "look", they were just too uncomfortable to wear and really irritated my skin. One thing I don't want to do is wear cuffs for show and then have to change to actually use them. At some point I may try and line them, but they'd still be for show and not play.
The one bright side of this set is the hog tie piece, which actually has held up when used with various other cuffs. It hasn't torn or pulled out of shape and still seems sturdy. However, the set isn't worth it just for this piece, and I still would not recommend this set.
