The Doggie Style Strap by Sportsheets is a fabric strap with handles that is used during sexual intercourse in the doggie style position. The packaging states that using the strap gives a better angle to hit the g-spot, and helps to provide deeper penetration. So, both giver and receiver benefit from using the strap.

The strap lies across the receiver’s lower abdomen while the giver, kneeling behind the receiver, grips the straps to control both the depth and angle attainable. Any couple, regardless of gender, can use the Doggie Style Strap. A female/female couple can use the strap if one of the two wears a harness. The same goes for a female/male couple where the woman is the giver while wearing a harness.

The strap is suitable for travel because it is light in weight and can easily be tucked into a suitcase without taking up any room. It is also discreet; most people would not know what the strap is for if they had seen it. Below is a photo from the packaging on how to use the strap properly.

You can’t tell in the stock photo, but the material to the strap is actually fuzzy. The materials that the product is made of are velboa fabric and polypropylene webbing. The velboa fabric is the thick, synthetic fur that makes up the strap that lies across the receiver’s lower abdomen. The polypropylene webbing is what the handles are made of.



The strap is black on the one side, and the other side is a pretty fuchsia colour. The stock photo makes the fuchsia look purple, but it is much more vibrant than the photo. The strap is 17 inches wide, not including the handles. The strap slightly dips at the centre, making the shape of the strap similar to the letter “V”. The strap is 3 1/2 inches in length but longest at the centre, with a length of just less than 4 inches. The material is not stretchy.

The handles are all black in colour. They are 6 5/8 inches in length and 1 inch wide. The handles are extremely durable and secured well to the strap. The handles are not adjustable in size. The entire product is actually really well made and durable.

The fuzzy strap is soft against the skin. It’s very comfortable to use for both the receiver and giver. The handles are easy to grip, though my partner had mentioned that they are a bit rough against the hands after a while of holding onto them.

The strap doesn’t necessarily help you attain a new position, but instead it enhances the doggie style position. The giver has more control over depth of penetration and position of the receiver. The packaging states that both angle and depth are affected by using the strap, and this is absolutely true. The strap helps take the position to a higher level of intensity for both partners.

The Doggie Style Strap is packaged in a rectangular cardboard box. The front of the box states the product name and has a photo of a model in her bra and panty holding the product. The back of the box has a couple of photos showing how the strap is used and states how the strap is beneficial for the position. The back also states the material composition of the strap, company name, and website.



The box photos and text are in black and white. With words like “Sex”, phrases like “Doggie Style”, and photos of half-clothed people covering the packaging, it is definitely not discreet. The packaging could be used for storing the strap when it is not in use, but it is rather big compared to the strap inside. The strap can easily be tucked away in a drawer and the packaging recycled.

The Doggie Style Strap should be hand washed and air-dried. The velboa material is machine washable, but it is suggested that the polypropylene webbing (handles) is hand washed. As previously mentioned, the strap is very easy to store. It can be folded or rolled up and put into a drawer or similar place.

Honestly, I don’t think I would have tried this product if I hadn’t received it as a DR assignment. My partner and I typically don’t use positioning aids. When we received the strap, we didn’t expect to experience much of a difference. Surprisingly, we really enjoyed it. I found it to be extremely comfortable and easy to use. My partner was the one who really found it helpful.

When my partner and I have sex in the doggie style position, he’ll grab my hips as he thrusts. He found the handles to be a lot easier to use. He said that the handles were a bit rough on his hands after a while, but he prefers the position with the strap compared to without. He said that he was able to control my body much easier and was able to penetrate deeper.

I was able to feel that the strap was working. I knew my partner was penetrating me much deeper than usual. I’d recommend the strap whether you use the doggie style position only once in a while or every day. It’s inexpensive and extremely durable. It’s worth the $14.99 investment. I’ve deducted one star from the rating because the strap and handles are not adjustable.
