These are adorable. The black lace and pearls are very romantic looking. But these are NOT meant for restraint. They are great for a sexy accessory, to draw attention to your feet if your partner has a foot fetish, or to imply submissiveness.

The cuffs are made of black polyester lace. You open them by tearing apart the Velcro closure, which is adjustable. There is also elastic in the center of the cuff, where the lace gathers. At the largest, these would easily fit any ankles or wrists I've ever seen. They can also be adjusted to fit pretty tightly as well, but there is always give because of the elastic. The lace is soft, and the cuffs are comfortable. Each cuff has a bow on it.

Attaching the cuffs together is a strand of fake pearls. They were fairly opalescent, like real pearls, but I could tell that in some spots, where the beads had rubbed together in the package, that the opalescent coating was slightly rubbing off. The string that the pearls are on is clear.

The product page states that this product is 18" long, but the string of pearls is only about 10 inches.

I didn't actually get the chance to try these out in the bedroom. As I was inspecting them to write this review, I decided to see how strong the string was that the pearls were on, and this happened:

To be quite honest, I barely tugged at all. It looks like fishing line, but I don't think you could have reeled in a small bluegill on it. There was barely any resistance on it at all, and pearls exploded all over the floor. I know that around here, when someone is being restrained, there will be things happening that are going to make you want to move. But if you do that in these, you're going to have pearls all over the place too. So now, I have a pair of pretty cuffs, and a bag of pearls.

When I see something that looks like restraints, I expect to be able to restrain someone with them. The only way this would work for that is with a fun game of 'If you break the string I'm going to punish you'.

I would definitely hand wash these. I don't think they'd survive the washer. For storage, I'd put them in a small bag or something like that to prevent them from getting caught on something and breaking, or snagging the lace.

In the center picture, you can see the little tiny plastic bag that the cuffs were packaged in. That bag was then put in that box. I'm not sure why the box was so large, but it didn't need to be. It could have been 1/4 of that size and still did the job.

There were no instructions included. The packaging was not discreet in any way.
