Since the eyes are open on this piece, it doesn't work well for sensory play or blinding your partner. You could put on a thin mask underneath this one, but it would get very hot and uncomfortable. It's best to use this simply as an accessory.

This mask is made from Nylon and Polypropylene. These materials are both very durable and help make the mask firm, yet flexible. There is a lot of bend to the mask, but it always returns back to shape and doesn't cause an issue.

Like most masquerade masks, this one isn't designed to cover your whole face, only the top portion; eyebrows, bridge of your nose, cheek bones, and the areas on either side of your eyes. The lower part of your face is exposed, as well as your eyes. It's made to conceal your identity, while being comfortable to wear and easy to go about your 'regular' activities.


The background color on the front of the mask is a nice bronze color and the opposite side is black. Around the outside edge is a silver decorative ribbon that isn't straight but has a 'squiggle' design to it. Over the whole front are loops and lines that are made from gold glitter and what looks like black marker. The details on the front are not consistent and one side might be different from the other. The only other pieces you see on the front are the two rivets that hold the black ribbon in place.

When you turn the mask around, you see the 15" long black ribbons. These ribbons are 3/8" wide and are designed to go around your head and tie in the back. That's the only way this mask stays in place. There's no velcro or buckles; it simply ties in place. This is great in one hand since it will fit most people, but it's not so great since the ribbon can become untied if not careful. The ribbons feel solid in place and do not seem like they could accidentally come apart.


The mask itself is 9 1/2" long when you measure it flat across the front. It is rounded at the bottom the eye area, but comes to smooth points on either side. These points don't bend around your face very easily and sort of stick out when you're wearing the mask. This is my biggest issue with the design. The widest area of the mask measures 3 1/2" tall and the eye area is 2" wide and 1" tall. The eye opening themselves aren't round or oval, both sides come to a sharp point, giving it a much more feminine look. However, since the eye area is so large, it exposes a decent amount of your eyes.

The back of the mask isn't lined; the material that's on the front, is also the material that's on the back. Though there's no lining it doesn't scratch the face or cause discomfort. The only concern with that back is that it traps in heat, causing your face to feel very warm and to sweat. This is fine for short periods of time, but intended wear might cause an issue.

The length of the ribbons help make this mask fit a wide range of head sizes. Since the combined length of the ribbons is 30", this should fit just about anyone. Just keep in mind, the larger your head, the less ribbon you have to tie.

The mask itself feels very durable and seems as though it will last a long time. It's fairly well made, but there are a few quality concerns with it. The most obvious is when you first look at the front. The design to the left of the mask, doesn't match the design to the right. While this doesn't effect the feel and wear of the item, it does effect the look of it. There were lots of little glue strings that had to be pulled away from the mask when it was first opened. This was annoying but also doesn't effect the feel and wear. On the black side of the mask (the area that goes directly against your face) there were glitter globs. And lastly, the edges around the eyes aren't totally smooth. This area doesn't connect with the face at all, but you would think they would have paid better attention to these details.

This mask fits well, stays in place well, and preforms well overall. It conceals just enough of your face to protect your privacy while remaining comfortable enough to wear. If it weren't for the fact that the material seems to trap in heat, this would be an ideal piece to wear, whatever the reason.

I'm on the larger side of the scale, and the mask fit my face very well. I could see someone much smaller than me having some slight fit issues because of the size, but it should work for a wide range of people.

This mask isn't delicate by any means, but you do need to be a little careful when it comes to cleaning and care. The front of the mask can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but be careful not to apply too much pressure on the glitter and marker spots since wiping too hard might remove some of it. The back of the mask can be wiped down with a damp cloth or with isopropyl alcohol to remove some of the natural oils produced by your face.

Storing is very easy. You can tie a small bow in the ribbon and hang from a hook or bedpost, or you could simply leave it on your dresser or put it inside your drawers along with your other delicate items. The only real storage concerns are that the mask doesn't get squished by anything and nothing leaks on it.

The mask arrives in a plastic bag and is attached to a thick piece of paper. The majority of it is black, but the front displays a set of deep blue eyes, and the back contains a little story about the mask. All of the Sex and Mischief items have a short story associated with the product the package contains.


The mask is attached to the paper with a small silver tie that works like a bread tie. Untwist it and remove the mask from the paper. The paper can easily be recycled since it's difficult to put the mask back on it. The plastic bag can either be kept to store the mask or can also be recycled.
