The Quick Release Cock Cage by Cal Exotics is pretty unique in the large and varied market of cock rings. It certainly isn’t the only cage out there, but the material and design are different from most. It’s a series of three tubes linked in the middle by small sleeves which are held together with inserts. It sounds like it wouldn’t work, but it seems to come together pretty well. The rubber tubing can be cut to whatever length you desire so that you can tailor it to whatever level of support you are looking for. This means that a guy has no one to blame but himself for not getting as much help out of this ring as he wants. I would definitely say that the old adage of “measure twice, cut once” applies with this cage. I found it to be easy to put on easy to take off. Once it is trimmed to the length you want it will presumably be more difficult to get on, but it still seems to hold itself together pretty well.

The Quick Release Cock Cage is mostly rubber. The three tubes are rubber and the sleeves linking the tubes are rubber. The inserts that keep the tubes circular are made of plastic, but these do not come in contact with your skin. The tubes are shiny with a smooth texture. The sleeves have a matte texture similar to a rubber band. The plastic inserts have small ridges close to the ends to help hold the tubes together. It all seems much like irrigation equipment which is what prompted the review title.

It takes a little figuring at first to know which tube is supposed to go where and how to get everything connected properly. It could definitely be put together wrong, so it is important to have an understanding of what the final product is supposed to look like. I would suggest putting it on the first time before you but it because it may not require any adjustment. If it is too loose, then take it off and trim the tubes where you would like things to be tighter. I think the cage is big enough for most guys, but I’m sure there are some where that will not be the case.

Since this is a non-penetrative device, it shouldn’t get as messy as some other toys. Rubber is pretty easy to care for, as well. Soap and water or toy cleaner will take care of the Quick Release Cock Cage. As far as lubricants, water based or silicone based lubes are fine. Contact with petroleum based lubes should be avoided. Rubber is a porous material, so sharing is a no-no, but at this price, replacing it if you change partners shouldn’t be too difficult.

Unfortunately, the packaging of the Quick Release Cock Cage is pretty graphic. It comes in a box for hanging. On the front of the box is a picture of a penis with the cage in place. The back of the box has a drawing of a cock with the cage in place. The box displays statements about virtues of the cock cage as well as appropriate usage warnings such as not using it for 30 minutes at a time and waiting at least an hour before using it again.

I didn’t know a whole lot about the Quick Release Cock Cage before receiving it, but when I got it I was a little surprised by the simplicity of it. The materials are so commonplace that I wondered how the idea had even been thought of. I put it on and used it the first time without making any size adjustments. It actually did its job pretty well. It lifted my equipment up pretty well which made access for my partner very easy. It also provided some erection enhancement. Not as much as some of my tighter cock rings, so I trimmed the rings to make them tighter and the cock cage was even better. I was a little worried that it might come loose, but there wasn’t a problem. It seems to stay together pretty well, but is also able to pull apart when you need it to.
