Cheapish Material and Short Length Make These So-So

These sash restraints are a good option for beginners trying out restraining play for the first time. They are affordable, but not super luxurious, making them an appropriate choice for experimenting with something new.

Use

You can use these restraints to fashion a soft pair of pseudo-handcuffs that tie your lover's hands behind their back, or you can attach one sash to each bedpost and tie the ends around your lover's wrists. However, given the short length of these two restraints (4 feet), there's not much else you can do.

This product is definitely best-suited for beginners trying light bondage for the first time. You get what you pay for at this price, and that's not a bad thing when you want a low-cost way of testing something new that you may or may not want to explore further.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The "satin" is more of a polyester material--the type you find on cheap fabric ribbons--and this detracts from the sensuality of the product. The fold creases do not look like they're ever going to disappear from this cheap fabric. I love the JimmyJane real silk Wink blindfold and restraints because the genuine silk feels decadent and lovely. Simply having those silk bands run across my body feels divine. Not so with the Sportsheets material. But this is an entry-level product ideal for testing something new.

That said, the material is sturdy, and if tied well will stand up to quite a bit of pulling. In fact, you have to be careful not to tie a bad knot too tight, at the risk of having to cut them.

Performance

They are sturdy enough, but I kept wishing that they were a foot or two longer. Despite the cheapish fabric, they are comfortable to wear. If only they were a bit longer, I would have given them four stars.

One interesting use is that they can be used as a light blindfold that blocks all light and leaves the wearer seeing red. Being unable to see anything but red can have an interesting effect on the wearer.

Packaging

Simple and discardable. It's marked "Beginners" and that is true advertising.
Follow-up commentary
Since I am not a beginner, I don't think this are well-suited to me. I haven't touched them since writing the review. Mostly because I have much nicer stuff to use for restraints: ropes, leather cuffs, and real silk.

But I still think they would be good for someone who's never used restraints before and is curious to try it without breaking the bank.

Nice review, but it left me with a few questions. Do you recommend using the packaging for storage? How do you clean the cuffs? Are they machine washable?

Polyester? Ick. Thanks for the review!

Good review. Definitely looks like an entry level product and I agree that with this type of item it's worth paying a little more to get a luxury feel. This is the type of product that should last a long time so getting something with a more silky feel I think is a good way to go.
