Beginner Pinwheel
If you're interested in bringing a little pain into the bedroom, this may be the place to start. This is a much less intimidating version of the Wartenburg pinwheel. It's perfect for beginners to get an idea of what they can handle. I tried it, and loved it so much I decided to upgrade!

Pros
Great for beginners, Kinky, Fun/easy to use
Cons
Wheel is squeaky
This pinwheel is perfect for those who want to add a little pain to their sex life. It's probably best for beginners though. I tried this out once, then decided I wanted to upgrade to something much more sharp, and a little more dangerous.
This wheel has a red plastic handle that comes to a metal part. The metal is kind of flat and wide. This is attached to the pinwheel. The wheel has several small spikes on it. If you look closely though, each spike has a slightly rounded top. This means you get a little bit of pain, but it's mostly a tickling feeling. Each of the spurs is only about 1/16 of an inch long. I've pushed this down on myself quite hard, and have not even come close to drawing blood or anything. Pushing it down as hard as I can hurts a little, but it's nothing unbearable.
If you're new to the pain thing, and you just want to try this out, it's the perfect starter toy. However if you're looking for something that's really going to make you squirm, you may want to keep looking.
When my husband used this on me, it was fun. He used the handle inside my vagina, and since I was blindfolded, I thought he put the whole thing in there. It's great for sensory play. The only problem I had with it, other than lack of pain was that the wheel gets a bit squeaky sometimes.
To clean this toy, you can just use a damp cloth or something like that. It's all I use.
The pinwheel...
Spurs. As you can see, they're slightly rounded...
In comparison to my other pinwheel. As you can see, it's much less intimidating, and the spikes are much smaller...

Experience
I liked this when I first got it. It's a great beginner toy. I did think that it just wasn't painful enough which is why I decided to upgrade. I have nothing against this toy, and think it was great for introducing me to pinwheels, but I don't think I'll be using it much anymore.
Follow-up commentary

This really is a fantastic toy, but I've upgraded to the more experienced user's version of this. I ordered both at the same time, and this one just didn't stand a chance against the non-beginners version.
If you're just starting out with some pain-play, then this is perfect, but if you know what you like already, you might just want to go ahead and get the one with the bigger spikes.

Thank you for viewing Fetish Fantasy wartenberg wheel – bdsm kit discontinued review page!
This is definitely a great starting point. The standard pinwheel hurts quite a bit more.
