The Bad Kitty soft set is probably more for appearances than actual play. This very cute 3 piece set is more so geared toward bondage and sex play novices, or someone just wanting to add something cutesy and girly with color to their toy collection. I wouldn't recommend this set be used for rough play at all. However, this set is ideal for introducing your lover into sexual fantasies and perhaps some blind-folded mystery games.

The Bad Kitty set is attractive in design and very soft. The felt material is thick and firm, but not stiff. The split leather handle of the whip is wrapped a bit flimsily and has a faint leathery smell, which I personally find quite clean and nice. The velcro of the wrist cuffs is very strong and durable, with just enough length of it that these could pose as ankle cuffs on mid-size to petite women. The cuffs adjust from 9cm-22cm, so they're perfect for your wrists, but you'll have to be lucky and small if you want them for your ankles. The 80cm cords on the cuffs are loosely hooked on by the metal D rings, so these can be replaced or adjusted and tied however you like. The cord is a smooth polyester, so some types of knots will slip too easily. The ends of these cords are lightly melted to hold the fibers together, but not by much. I presume with a lot of use and knot tying, these cords' tips will fray and come apart, unless you tie a knot at the ends.



The mask of the Bad Kitty set is shaped wonderfully to fit the contours of your eyes and nose. Most masks/blindfolds have only a slight indention for the bridge of the nose, which will cause some slight tenting where it's easy to peek and see all. This felt mask has a deep indentation allowing it to curve around the bridge of the nose and cover just the eye areas pretty well, so no peeking! (I might just use this for a slumber mask!) The elastic band is firm and almost too loose, but there's no adjustment, so you may need to be creative to take it in a smidge if need be. This Bad Kitty set probably won't last very long or through too many play periods, especially if you're a little rough.

The Bad Kitty soft set didn't quite meet the expectations I had for it. It's visually pleasing, and has a name that sounds exciting and naughty. The only thing naughty about this 3 piece set is its performance. The felt whip strips tear off easily and stretch out, and even the whip's handle feels flimsy and not too comfortable when being gripped. The cords for tying up the cuffs aren't ideal for tying up because of their slick lightweight texture, much like a glorified polyester shoelace. The only saving grace of this set is the sturdy velcro cuffs that fit comfortably on your wrist, and possibly your ankles if they fall within the 9cm-22cm bracket, and the comfortable mask featuring a deep contour to go over the bridge of your nose. The metal D rings on the cuffs will make it easy to substitute the flimsy cords for a sturdier rope or cord with latches.

While the Bad Kitty set is easy enough to store- its materials are soft and non-reactive, so they can be kept in the box they came in, tossed in your toy box, or hung up (that's the intended use of the D ring on the whip)- it's not terribly easy to clean if you get it dirty. The felt material is absorbent, so if it comes in contact with lubricants, they will seep deep into the material, and of course collect whatever dust or grime it then encounters. Makeup, particularly waterproof mascaras and eyeliners, is a bit more difficult to wash out of the material. Mild makeup removers can be applied with cotton swabs to help remove residue.



The set is hand-wash only, so it needs to be washed with warm water and very mild detergent. Disinfectants and bleach should not be used. To dry, dab with a towel then let air dry on a flat surface.

The box for the Bad Kitty set is very simple, with a nude woman displaying its use on both front and back. The nipples are not spotlighted out like on the website. Information regarding the contents and materials are in multiple languages on the sides of the box. This box is recyclable, but make sure it is handled properly and not left out for the neighbor's kids to see. The 3 piece set comes in a clear plastic bag inside the box along with a manual/information in multiple languages about the parts and care info.

If the parts to the Bad Kitty soft set were sold separately, so you could just buy what you wanted or needed, that'd be fantastic. I'm really not keen on getting a set where one part ended up sort of a waste, while the others worked out well. I believe this set can provide some couples with beginner fun, but don't hold too high of expectations for putting the whip to proper use. In my opinion, if this product were on sale, or a tad cheaper, then it might be worth it, just for the colorful cuffs and mask.

Like anytime my lover and I get our sex toys in the mail, we're very eager to open them right away. I was particularly excited for the Bad Kitty soft set because I am into bondage, and the black and hot pink colors were going to perfectly match the collar I wear. While my partner fondled the parts, I began to undress for a quick shower, and of course he saw this as an opportunity to quickly use the whip. With my back to him and no idea what he was up to, I barely felt a light flick against my rump, and my man let out a dissatisfied, "Aww!" One of the pink felt strips from the whip broke off! We were confused and sad, but hoped maybe it was just a loose piece of the whip. So he tried again, snapping the soft whip against me where I felt mostly nothing but soft material patting me. Another strip ripped away when it hit me. Heartbreaking.



We finally got around to testing out the complete set one evening by replacing our usual cuffs and mask with these, and we would alternate between a vinyl spanker and the felt whip. I immediately loved the new mask. Our other one is large and black, with material that reminds me of a windbreaker jacket with subtle scratching sounds when it brushes against my hair or anything else- which distracts me very much. This curvy pink felt mask feels much softer and wraps over the bridge of my nose better without applying pressure. The band felt loose, but wasn't something to worry about. My lover laid me down on our bondage mattress (it has hooks in various places, etc) and I was left blindfolded with only my other senses to guide me on the Bad Kitty soft set.

When the cuffs were applied, they felt just fine and fit very well. I could tell they were thick enough and sturdy enough to yank on, despite the felt of the whip being flimsy. This is when we noticed issues with the cord on the cuffs. With a simple knot applied to restrain me, one which usually works with our ropes and material straps, when I playfully fought against my lover's physical advances on me, I was able to pull one arm free- the cord slipped from its knot. Normally a mistake in the middle of sex play isn't too much to worry about, but this was just another let-down and I had to focus my head a little to keep from being turned off. It's pretty important to have reliable toys, especially if you're introducing someone into a light bondage world with a beginner product like this.

So after brushing these thoughts from my busy little head and my mate strapping me down again, we returned to our fantasy where I fought against my restraints and was in fear of being touched by a man I couldn't see. My partner alternated between a few toys and found the best use of the Bad Kitty soft whip was to whip it against my breasts and face- neither of which I could feel very much, but at least it sort of tickled and left a tingling almost stinging sensation against my cheeks. Not enough to hurt anyone, of course, or leave marks. Dragging the felt strips of the whip up and down the body definitely tickles and shot chills and goosebumps over my entire body. The whip works better like a feather teaser than an actual whip.

Toward the end of a good sturdy romp, my lover came up with the idea to try my wrist cuffs on my ankles, to see if they fit there as well. I was untied and my arms freed as he strapped the soft cuffs to my ankles- and they fit! There's only about an inch of velcro available to strap together once it fits around my ankle (and I do not have the thinnest ankles), but the velcro was strong enough to still hold, even with such little space. So my legs were forced apart, strapped to the mattress, and our naughty play session ensued. Eventually with enough of a pounding and the mask being slightly loose, it slipped down my face and I could see, but I didn't bother putting it back. I really find the black and hot pink cuffs adorable, and was pleased at how well they held up.

During clean up, I noticed a smudge of my dark eyeshadow on the pink of the mask. Just to test the cleaning out, I smeared more makeup onto the mask and in theory, with sweat or tears, it'll get there eventually. I used waterproof eyeliner and mascara, as well as a black eyeshadow. With a little finger rubbing and warm water, most of the makeup washed away in a minute or two. The eyeliner wasn't budging too well, so I used Lancome Bi-Facil eye makeup remover on a cotton swab to help dissolve it, then washed it all away easily.
My partner and I agreed that the cuffs are good and sturdy, worth using again if we swap out the cords for straps, and the eyemask is mine-mine-mine! I really enjoyed it and felt quite comfortable with it.



As for the whip, I'm not sure we'll be breaking it out again for a good while. It wasn't very good for either of us, and we can't believe how easily it's breaking apart. I think if a whip can't make you yelp, it's not really a whip. And while this set can be great for beginners, the whip will more than likely still let you down.
