Novices and newbies to BDSM play looking to play with ankle restraints may find some use of the Inked Tattoo Ankle Restraints, though be warned that if your ankle is not small these may cause discomfort during use. These cuffs are easy to use and a good introduction to light BDSM play. If you intend to use these for rougher play, I would search elsewhere as these cuffs may not endure a rather rough play session.

Pros
Fashionable, plush, easy to use.
Cons
Serious chafing of the skin, not made for anyone with larger ankles.
The Inked restraints tattoo ankle cuffs by California Exotics are excellent cuffs for those starting out with BDSM play and who intend to use them for light play. These cuffs are a bit small, though, and will only fit most ankle sizes. If you have larger ankles, like I do, these cuffs are not practical and are going to cause more discomfort than anything during play time. If you have small ankles, however, these cuffs are great for use with spreader bars or hooking them to the end of the bed for a bit of light play with your partner. If you are looking for cuffs that are going to endure some rougher play, however, these cuffs are not going to suit your needs and will leave you disappointed most likely.
These cuffs are made like the matching wrist cuffs from neoprene and nylon, the nylon forming the loop that holds the metal rings on each cuff. Each cuff measures at about 10", though the packaging claims they can fit up to an 11" ankle. One of the nice features of these ankle cuffs is that there are no buckles and straps to fiddle with when placing them on yourself or your partner. These cuffs bind together with velcro that is sewn into the material on the underside of the cuffs. Attached to one end of each cuff is a velcro pad that catches the velcro to keep the restraints in place.
The neoprene that makes up the top portion of the cuffs is soft and plush for added comfort during use, though the comfort does not last long when put to the test. After a bit of extended use, these cuffs become uncomfortable to wear and the velcro does not do anything to alleviate any aggravation and/or irritation. If your ankle barely fits in these cuffs, like mine do, you will not enjoy the experience in the least.
The packaging also claims that one size will fit most, though California Exotics' products tend to run on the smaller side and fit those with smaller body frames and builds just as a warning.
When my partner and I went to use these cuffs with a spreader bar of ours we were gung-ho and excited. He took the cuffs out of the packaging and placed them on my ankles. They felt a little tight, but I was willing to work with it for the time being. After about ten minutes of us playing I was begging for him to take them off and let my circulation flow to my feet again as they had fallen asleep and had those irritating pins and needles in them. Needless to say, I was disappointed by the cuffs and the experience as a whole.
Something that I noticed upon looking at the cuffs is that the nylon cord that makes up the loop that holds the o-ring is a bit flimsy and has the potential to be ripped off if played with too roughly. The metal clasp that came with the cuffs to hold the two o-rings together (one on each cuff) was a bit light, too, and could break if enough pressure was applied to it in the wrong manner.
I also noticed after that I had red imprints in my ankles from where the velcro had been rubbing against my skin. These cuffs left a brush burn on my ankles that I was not pleased with in the least. To me, ankle cuffs are supposed to be comfortable and these definitely are the most uncomfortable ones I have experienced in my time exploring BDSM play. I was sorely disappointed by these ankle cuffs and do not recommend them to anyone who doesn't have a tiny ankle.
Once you have finished play time and are looking to clean these cuffs, cleaning them with a warm washcloth and some soft soap will do the trick. Lay them out to dry and store them in your toy chest, box, trunk, drawer, etc. These cuffs will not interact and destroy the material of other products in the drawer, so it's safe to store them amongst other things.

These cuffs aren't good for me just because I have bigger ankles than they are designed for. They cut off my circulation more than I would like and they make the bondage experience miserable when in use. If you've got smaller ankles, they might work for you. All in all, though, they're not very well made and they're definitely not designed for everyone.

Sorry these didn't work well for you. What is the smallest diameter ankle these cuffs would fit? I have fairly small ankles, although I am going to be going with a leather cuff for my next ankle cuff purchase, these are cute.
It's interesting that they are neoprene, they look so much like foam.
Good review.

They measure at 10", so if you have an 8" ankle or smaller you should be fine

I am a bit heartbroken that neither the ankle or wrist cuffs worked out that great for you. I really had high hopes for these, I still think I might get the set because of the design on them. Both the reviews were wonderful thank you for sharing your experience with them.
