I was very interested to try out the Elektra Plug, as I am already a person who enjoys the sensation of e-stim or electrosex toys. Generally speaking, an e-stim toy differs from a vibrator in that the toy itself does not move but creates the sensation of movement by running mild currents under your skin. Because of this, any e-stim toy will need at least two points of contact with your skin in order to function. Without these two points, the circuit will not be closed and it will appear that the toy is not on. For instance, if you touch the plug with one finger only, you will not feel a current.

The reasons I am explaining this in a review is 1) It can really hurt if you think the toy is off and then close the circuit and get a shock and 2) when the bullet is inserted, it must keep in contact with at least two points of the vaginal/rectal wall to produce stimulation. The second point was a bit of a problem for me with this particular toy. If the bullet itself had a bit more girth, I believe that it would have produced more consistent stimulation when inside of me. As it was, it felt like the stimulation would "turn off" if I changed positions even slightly. I only used the toy vaginally, so this may be different during butt-stuff, but since there is NOT a largely flared base to this toy, I was hesitant to send it through the backdoor.

One interesting feature of this plug is that both the plug itself and the controller are capable of producing a current. When the unit is switched to "inside", the controller will stimulate your hand or wherever you might lay it. When the unit is switched to "outside", the stimulation comes from the plug. It took me a few minutes to figure this out. It seemed kind of counter-intuitive to me that the outside mode must be on for the plug to stimulate the inside of me. Still, it's nice to have some options.

Unlike most other e-stim toys, this unit functions all on its own and doesn't require a tens box or other external power source. If you are just curious about e-stim, I think this is a plus because it saves you money and equipment. However, if you are more experienced, the setup limits the amount of current produced by the toy. I personally wished it felt as strong as e-stim with a tens unit.
