A Must-Have for any BDSM Practitioner
For anyone who is interested in sensory play, this toy is absolutely essential. The tingly sensation it produces feels amazing. Your experience with this toy can be as intense as you want it to be, depending on the amount of pressure you use. So even if you aren't into pain or BDSM play, this toy can be great to use for teasing and foreplay. And for those who are into BDSM, it's great for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

Pros
Amazing sensation, best toy for sensory play, low-maintenance, perfect for foreplay
Cons
There really are none as long as you know what you're doing.
Everyone I know in the BDSM scene kept telling me, "You HAVE to get a Wartenberg pinwheel. It's amazing!" They kept saying that it's one of the essentials of any BDSM practitioner's toy collection. However, I never really thought a simple metal pinwheel could actually be very exciting. Well I finally picked up this one, and I have to say, my friends were right! This toy may not look like much, but it actually produces quite a sensation.
Using it is simple, but you do have to be cautious. You hold the pinwheel like a piece of cutlery, and gently drag the pinwheel across your partner's body. The wheel rotates very easily, so almost no pressure is necessary just to make it move. However, you can apply a bit more pressure for a more intense experience, but those spikes on the wheel are sharp, so if you apply too much pressure, it may not be very fun for your partner. When done right, however, this is the absolute best toy for sensory play, and the sensation that this wheel produces is absolutely incredible. It's hard to describe, but it feels tingly and sort of like very light pinching. Other people have said it feels like goosebumps. Even though this toy is labeled as a BDSM toy, it doesn't have to be painful at all. If you apply almost no pressure to it, it creates a tickling sensation which makes it fun for teasing and foreplay for those who aren't into any pain whatsoever. The point is, it feels wonderful, and it will send shivers down your spine!
The best places to apply the pinwheel when starting out are the torso, back, arms, shoulders, and legs. Then once you get good at using it in those areas, advanced users can try more sensitive areas (which produce a much more intense sensation). I sometimes apply it to the shaft of my boyfriend's penis (NOT the head), and he uses it on my public area and the outer lips of my vagina, as well as on and around my nipples. The buttocks are also a fun area to apply the pinwheel to. But please be sure to practice on less-sensitive areas and get used to using the pinwheel before applying it to these areas, because improper use on any of them could end badly.
This toy is very low maintenance. To clean it, all you really need to do is rinse it off with antibacterial soap and water (or you can just throw it in the dishwater if you want to). Also, it's very small, so it's very easy to store. The pinwheel fits in a purse easily, so it is travel-friendly for the most part (like if you're going out to a play party). However, I'm not sure you would be allowed to board a plane with it in your carry-on bag because of the spikes. The Wartenberg pinwheel is also discreet because, for those who are unfamiliar with it, it really doesn't look like a sexual object.

Experience
I STRONGLY recommend blindfolding your partner before using it on him or her. It makes the experience much more fun and intense. Another thing I would recommend trying out is placing the pinwheel in the freezer before using it to produce a new and interesting sensation.
