As mentioned already this flogger is unique because the handle functions as a vaginal G-spot dildo. So I will first talk about the handle of this toy. The wood mused to make this flogger is called Padauk. It is a wood and I am not going to go in much detail about it. It is an exotic wood from Africa or Asia, it is a tough wood, and people like the color of it. This is an exotic wood, and that is where some of the price comes into play. It is a luxury and aesthetic piece. And I do think the handle is very nice looking. It has a lovely color, the grain is very attractive, and it is very hard, and smooth, and just seems nice.
Here is a photo of the whole flogger
And here you get a better view of the handle.
The handle on this toy as you can see from the photo has quite a large curve on it, which results in a large bulbous object at the end (this is obviously the G-spot portion). I personally bought this toy to use a flogger, and did not really care much about using the dildo portion of it, so I have not tried it out. I will explain a little bit later why there are other reasons I have not as well. So I cannot comment on it as a dildo, but it does seem like it would provide pretty good stimulation. You could probably read a review of one of Nob Essence's wood G-spot dildos and get a very good idea of how it would feel. Now the reason the wood can safely be used as an insertable object is because it has a protective coating on it (wood without a coating would not be safe, because it is porous and could splinter). They call it Lubrosity and claim that it is hypoallergenic, scent free, water resistant, chemical/bacteria resistant, and phthalate free. I am sure it is all of these things. I am quite positive though it is just a body safe clear coat and is not something only their company can produce. Basically it is just a layer between you and the wood that keeps it safe. You can check the integrity of this lining by immersing the wood portion in water. You should not see any wet and dark spots on the wood. If this is the case the coating is not longer functioning and the toy should not be used for penetration. This can occur if you drop the toy on a hard surface, because the wood could crack causing the coating to also break. So to shorten all of that, the wood has a nice body safe coating that lets you use the toy vaginally.
Now to talk about how the handle feels and handles. So a handle on a flogger should be balance with the falls of the flogger so that swinging the toy is as easy as possible. If you have ever swung a flogger that is horribly off balance it feels very weird and makes flogging a difficult activity. I think this flogger has a very well balanced handle. When you swing it, the handle seems to weigh the same amount as the falls which is very nice. I would expect that from a flogger that costs this much money and it delivers. When swinging this flogger the handle was admittedly a little awkward at first. A straight classic flogger handle is easier to use, but after a couple of minutes of trial and error I did find a comfortable and easy to use place for my hand on the handle. I think the handle works just as well as a classic flogger, it is just going to take you some extra time before you find your sweet spot.
The handle has the following measurements:
8 ½” long, 1 3/4” bulb, 2” widest.
Moving on the falls of the toy. They are made out of leather. I am unsure of what animal they come from, but they are very very soft. My guess would be deerskin. I have heard it is one of the softest hides, but I am unsure. It is definitely not cow or bison, because both of those are harder than what this is. The falls have a finished leather on one side and a suede leather on the other, so you get a mix of very soft, and soft. I like the dual textures of them. Overall they are very soft and exactly what I was looking for.
The measurements of the falls are as follows:
23 ½ inches long, ½ of an inch wide, and 1/16 of an inch thick
The toy also comes with a small leather strap and a metal S ring that are used for hanging your flogger up. I was initially a little disappointed this flogger did not have a strap when I was ordering it online, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found they included the hardware necessary to hang this flogger up and keep it in top condition.
A small leather strap and a metal eyelet that allow you to hang the flogger up.
Here is a size comparison of the G-spot flogger with the other floggers I own:
The Lelo Suede flogger on top, in middle is the G-spot flogger, and on the bottom is the fluffy flogger.
Now for some general characteristics of the flogger. Overall it seems very well made. The falls seem securely attached to the wooden handle and I expect no problems with them. The leather is good quality, the wood has no flaws, and I expect this toy to last for a very long time as long as you are careful and do not drop it (doing so can cause the wood to crack and split). But this is not a toy I am going to just be throwing across the room.
The toy does smell like leather. I find it to be very pleasant, but it is faint and really only noticeable if you bring it right next to your face. It is not something you will notice during play. The handle has no odor to it, and it has no taste to it either, which is nice.
The toy rates a 7 on EF's safety scale because of the leather. Leather is a porous material so it can trap bacteria and fluids in it and never be completely sterilized. The wooden handle however can be completely sterilized. (It rates a 9 on the safety scale)
